Paid 16k to this company to begin phase 2 of my home renovations. After the completion of Phase 1, I realized the work was not up to standard. Decided to not use the country for phase 2. They were paid in full for phase 1. They have not returned my phase 2 funds. After saying they would on oct 1, 2024. Ive also learned that the lead on the project ****** ******* was posing as a general contractor the whole time. He is unlicensed.

    Business Response

    Date: 03/04/2025

After receiving the initial deposit of 16k on 7/12/24 to do the Porch Work at *****************, client expressed the urgency of starting the project as soon as possible. The deposit for said project put in play the steps necessary to begin with the permit application and working with the building department as necessary before beginning the initial work.
While waiting for permit to be issued, client expressed frustration during that period and then proceeded to request money back from deposit.
We agreed to terminate the contract but communicated that certain deduction would apply to the amount due to the time already spent on the project.  On 12/5/24 $8,870.00 was returned to client as $7,200.00 was deducted from total deposit amount.
And in regard to ****** ******* as posing as licensed contractor this statement is just false, a meeting with Company owner, Licensed Contract, and homeowner was conducted at said residence / project location prior to project to examine job site and discuss desired alterations to existing home.  Mr. ******* did take the lead in organizing and ordering material for project as the super to project and reported daily to job site.
