In January 2025, my fiance, ***** ****** and I sought couples counseling and contacted ****** for in-network provider options. Elite DNA Comprehensive Therapy Services was listed as a provider offering couples counseling. We called the office, confirmed with the receptionist that they did indeed provide couples therapy and scheduled what we were told would be our first appointment. That February 6th appointment turned out to be nothing more than a brief phone intake, during which general information was collected: name, address, insurance, and the reason for seeking therapy. No actual counseling took place. A therapist briefly joined the call at the end, but again, there was no therapeutic discussion or service. We were told we would be contacted for our first session with a couples therapist, but after two weeks with no response, we followed up only to be told that they do not provide couples therapy at all. It became clear that we were misled from the start, both by the information on file with Humana and by Elite DNAs own staff. The result was a waste of time and a false promise of services that were never available. I then started receiving a $30 bill for the intake call-despite the fact that no counseling occurred, and no future service could be scheduled. On February 26th, I reported this to ************************* and they opened an investigation under Case #SIU202502100473. I was explicitly advised not to pay the charge due to the misleading nature of the appointment and was encouraged to file formal complaints with both ****** **************** and the **********************. Unauthorized Charges, Miscommunication, and Unethical Billing Practices I am filing a formal complaint against Elite DNA Behavioral Center regarding misleading appointment scheduling, unauthorized charges, and unethical billing practices.I initially scheduled an evaluation appointment for my daughter, which proceeded as expected. I was then told that the second appointment would be for me to meet with a physician to review the results of the evaluation. However, when I arrived, I was informed it was another evaluationa detail that was never communicated to me in advance.Following this, I was charged for two separate evaluation appointments, even though I only agreed to one. These charges were made to my card without my clear consent or proper explanation.Additionally, I received a confirmation email for a future appointment, to which I responded that I was unable to attend. Despite my response, I was still charged a $40 cancellation fee. This charge was unauthorized and unfair, as I properly communicated my inability to attend through their system.I attempted to address these concerns directly with the center but received no resolution. This entire experience felt transactional and impersonal, as though financial gain was prioritized over patient care.I am requesting the following:A full refund for the second evaluation appointment and the $40 cancellation fee.Written confirmation that no further charges will be made to my account.A review of their scheduling and billing procedures to prevent similar issues for other families.I strongly caution others to be aware of these practices before seeking services at Elite DNA Behavioral Center. Mental health care should be grounded in transparency, ethics, and respectqualities that were lacking in my experience. Thank youInitial Complaint

I went to Elite DNA Behavioral Health in ***********, ** for a consolation. I realized after the appointment this was not a business I wanted to use. I clearly stated that at the end of consultation. They scheduled another appointment with our my knowledge and charged me for the service. I explained again I did not want to use their service and they told me I owe them money. They are unprofessional and scamming people.Initial Complaint

For many months they have made multiple billing errors resulting in appointment cancellations. I have contacted them multiple times. They have billed my insurance, double charged me for ****** and continue to try and bill me for payment collect through my insurance. They deny you your appointment and the issues are solely their billing department. I have called every department and have been promised a call back but that never happens. This is affecting my health.Initial Complaint

Don't use Elite DNA. You'll submit a questionnaire that they can't find and then spend the first meeting asking you the questions you've literally just already answered. Then you'll schedule an appointment, and the therapist will leave you a voicemail to cancel, and then they will charge you $40 for a no show appointment that they cancelled! Then you'll call in to try to resolve it and you won't be able to get anyone on the phone nor the issue corrected once communicated. The billing lady was very unpleasant and unhelpful. Now they just send bills with the fraud charge on them. I won't be going back here.Initial Complaint

I am being billed for a psychotherapy appointment that I didn't get. I came for medicine management as a new patient. I am just trying to understand why I got billed for therapy on a medical management appointment. I have talked to the office multiple times to try to get an explanation of the billing, and an appointment was set up with a financial advisor, ****, supposedly to get a breakdown of the billing. Instead, she just kept telling me the billing is accurate my deductible is high. Everytime I said, "I am not questioning my deductible, I am just asking about the psychotherapy that was billed when I came in as a new patient for medicine management," she just replied with the same thing. I was not being rude, I was just trying to get clarification because I was told that's why that appointment was set up to speak with her. I have a right to know what services I am being billed for, especially when $414 was billed for the initial new outpatient appointment, and another $285.85 was billed for the 53+ of psychotherapy. I just want to know if this is what happens with the new patient visit or if the psychotherapy was billed in error. I was only there for 1 hour, and when I spoke with the front desk they said the initial new patient was a 1 hour visit. I just need somebody to explain the billing to me so I know what is being charged is accurate and not an incorrectly added bill, but I keep getting the run around. I have called my insurance, I have called the office, I have gone down to the office, I spoke with the financial advisor who was of no help and was incredibly rude, and I left a voicemail for the office manager of the ************ location. I am just asking to have an understanding of what is being charged before I pay for it.Initial Complaint

On 3/26/24 I was supposed to have a virtual appt with my psychiatrist through elite DNA. My complaint is not with ********** ********* whatsoever. My complaint, however, is with Elite *********** staff. I had been having issues with office staff ever since they switched my main office from *************** to ************. Office staff on 3/26/24 was supposed to post my appt payment on my portal so I could pay before my appt and they failed to do so. I had my boyfriend sitting with me as a second ****** to be a witness since the office staff tried telling me I was trying to get out of paying for my appts when they would fail to post what I owe on my account. This would cause my appts to be delayed or cancelled. As someone who needed this appt for mental health reasons, I am utterly disgusted with how unprofessional elite *********** staff is. No one is pleasant when you call in to ask questions or make appointments, and they shove you off on other people when they dont feel like answering questions. For mental health professionals this is unacceptable and I was unaware my appt from 3/26/24 had a payment due. Now my account is in collections and I had zero notification about a balance in my account. Not only do I feel lied to, but Im upset that my credit has been affected over something thats not my fault. Office staff had the opportunity to call me to collect payment for that appt as well but failed to do so.Initial Complaint

Sent me to collections for a bill that the Ex wife owes. there is a co pay that is required to see the doctor but they kept letting her run up a balance. and then she told them I would pay. so now i get notice from collection agency. tried to call Billing at Elite DNA multiple times and on hold for 20 minutes and the phone just hangs up. I have never signed anything stating they can bill me. the ex wife goes and is supposed to pay a co pay and then allowed to see the doctor. that is how it is supposed to work.Business Response

EliteDNA has a hostile worker that provided spoken and maybe written untruths about me as well as attempting to harm my reputation and billing me for it. This has been proven that she had purposely or not attempted to slander me.The owner of EliteDNA said to give this worker another chance, as he said she maybe had a bad day. I did this, today, Tuesday October 28. 2024, to only have to get off the conference with this person due to her obscene behavior. She was hostile to me again where I had to excuse myself and leave the conference, as well as made implied threats to slander me again.Business Response

I received a certified letter from Elite DNA therapy ************ on Saturday at 1:50pm. This letter states that I have been terminated as a patient of Dr. ***** and ****** *****, without any explanation whatsoever. I have been communicating with Elite about an issue with my insurance company and had requested that my appointments be put on hold until the discrepancy was resolved and they politely agreed to this. Recently I had received a response from my insurance company and I have contacted Elite in upwards of 20x about it. They will not take my calls, respond to my texts or emails, and they have even deleted my patient portal entirely so I could not communicate with my doctors. The certified letter is dated 10/03/2024 but was not sent and received until 10/25/2024. This leaves me with only days to try to find a new psychiatrist and therapist, not the month like they seem to be trying to insinuate in the letter. I have done nothing to be terminated, and I adore my psychiatrist and do not want to be ripped away from her. The office's refusal and lack of communication paired with the receipt of this letter has thrown me into a profound panic hysteria and my health has already been compromised. If I'm not able to refill my prescriptions, I face withdrawal stroke, seizure, and even death. I feel that this treatment is malpractice, unwarranted, undeserved, and unnecessary. I am terrified that my health is at such serious risk, and as a patient for many, many years, I don't understand the termination, especially when it came without any explanation.Business Response
