We hired this company to do after the fact permitting as to which they did nothing and we paid a total of $2000.00 for this. Then I gave them another $600.00 to attend a magistrate hearing on November 15,2023 at 9am which he did not attend do to a car accident. Although I have sympathy for him and his wife that was an act of god and no fault of mine. I paid him to attend that hearing on Nov 15 and he did not. We gave him a lot of money and he did NOTHING! I am not asking for the other money back because he just is not an honest person and I'm sure will find ways to justify keeping that money, but I will not allow him to keep my money for a court date he was hired for on a specific date and did not show!

We were engaged to assist **** & ********************* in rectifying an after-the-fact permit violation and provide guidance on resolving the matter, both of which we successfully executed. Our objective during the meeting on November 15 was to support the client in requesting a Continuance, recognizing it as the most favorable outcome given the circumstances, as any alternative would have likely resulted in court-ordered demolition of structures and imposition of fines. It is important to clarify that we are not legal professionals but rather a drafting company specializing in after-the-fact permitting coordination and implementation.

Furthermore, we effectively liaised with the county building department to devise a plan for bringing the property into compliance. Despite my inability to physically attend the November 15 meeting due to a car accident caused by a drunk driver, I remained actively involved in assisting the client remotely from my hospital bed, facilitating the request for a continuance through email and phone communications, supported by attached records.

Prior to the meeting, we invested time in preparing the client and engaging with the relevant authorities. Specifically, we had a 17-minute conversation with the client on November 14 to provide guidance and support, as well as a 21-minute discussion with *********************** from the Martin ************************** to ensure alignment and ****** support for the continuance request.

The outcome of our efforts was a granted continuance, rescheduling the hearing to January 17, 2024, thereby affording the client the necessary time to take corrective actions towards compliance. It is not uncommon for clients in similar situations to experience frustration and direct it toward various parties, including those assisting them. While we empathize with their sentiments, we remain focused on delivering the services for which we were engaged.

Considering the successful resolution of the matter and our fulfillment of contractual obligations, we respectfully request the Better Business Bureau to close this case.

To expand on the Project. Part of the compliance process involved assisting **** & ********************* in reinstating their agricultural exemption, which would eliminate the need to demolish either of the structures on their property. The issue stemmed from the revocation of their agricultural exemption by the property appraiser's office for the areas where the unpermitted buildings were erected and utilized for non-agricultural purposes.

I engaged in multiple discussions with the County Building officials and the clients, emphasizing the straightforward nature of the solution. Essentially, they needed to cease the non-agricultural activities in those areas. Subsequently, we would then coordinated meetings with both the property appraiser and the building official to facilitate the reinstatement of their agricultural exemption. This reinstatement would render the unpermitted buildings compliant since permits would not be necessary if the agricultural exemption were restored. Reasons why a continuance was the best possible outcome.

This comprehensive approach aimed not only to address the immediate permitting issues but also to ensure long-term compliance and preservation of the agricultural nature of the property.

In response to their response, almost everything they sent you including surveys and right to farm act were things that I provided! and I am not seeking reimbursement for any of that, even though something is due.

The phone call logs that were all incoming calls at a minute were calls that I made that he NEVER answered. If need be I can show proof of me sending those items, I paid for a surveyor to come out and sent it to him.

I am seeking the $600.00 that I paid them to attend a court hearing, which specifically states the date on the contract/invoice of the hearing which he DID NOT attend.

I will take the matter to court regarding the $600.00 if need be, he showed proof himself that he did not attend, so I can NOT see how he is justified and keeping that $600.00!!??????

There is nothing in that contract that says the $600.00 is for anything else other than attending that court hearing on that day of November 15,2023.

I am attaching the invoice and once again this is all I am seeking is this $600.00. I will not give up on this! He did NOT attend this hearing and should not be allowed to keep my hard earned money!

I am attaching invoices showing what I paid him (and he DID NOT DO!!) so I am having a hard time understanding why he wont return my money for a court hearing that he didnt attend.

He is bringing up stuff that had nothing to do with invoice for court. I have attached invoices for what he's "claiming he did".

Hello, as previously mentioned. We were engaged to assist **** & ********************* in rectifying an after-the-fact permit violation and provide guidance on resolving the matter, both of which we successfully executed. Our objective during the meeting on November 15 was to support the client in requesting a Continuance, recognizing it as the most favorable outcome given the circumstances. Any alternative would have likely resulted in court-ordered demolition of structures and imposition of fines. I am rejecting this response because: We had a binding contract for him to go to court, I was not able to change the scope of the work without paying more, so why should he be allowed?

He keeps going back to other things which I clearly paid him for! He was paid for everything he did AND THEN SOME!  I paid him specifically as the invoice said just for him to go to court with me

and he did not. The case was resolved that day (on my own!)  and I found someone else to do what he didn't for half of the money! We were able to permit our after the fact building with the help of some honest people.

So I cannot not understand on what legal and moral values that he is not returning my money? For the principal of this and its the right thing to do, I will accept nothing less than return of the money that he was paid to attend court. I do not understand how he is trying to justify this???

    Sincerely,

    *********************
