I purchased a custom built mobile commercial kitchen for $44,530.83 from Trailer-Made. Estimate ****** was signed on 3/13/2024. The final floor plan was approved on 6/4/2024 with an estimated completion of 12 weeks within signing of the floor plan. The manufacturer had several delays to include ordering and installing the wrong oven which then had to be removed (via cutting a door in the side of the trailer without approval) and the correct oven installed and electrical needing to be redone. I was originally due to have the trailer in September but got the trailer the first time in November. I lost the original place that the trailer was going to be located due to the delays. When I received the trailer in November, there were multiple problems. The trailer was not built according to plans, the sinks were unusable for anything other than utensils, electrical wiring was wrong for the turn signals, brakes and hazards. The trailer was too heavy for the springs installed, there was caulking that was bad, blemish from a bad repair on the trailer and overall shoddy work. The trailer also leaked terribly the first hard rain that we had, resulting in pooled water on the inside and rusting of equipment. The trailer was never able to be used. I paid to have the trailer taken back to Trailer Made from *****. Trailer Made offered a $400 rebate for October and November for loss of business due to the delays. I made 2 round trips to ***** from ***** for inspections. When the trailer was brought back to ***** in March 2025, the key was missing for the water cap, there was only one electric cord (I had asked for the others when I took it back and was told there would be cords when the trailer was delivered the 2nd time). Side pieces for the bottom oven were also missing. The electrical did not work and between my electrician and an electrician Trailer Made sent, there was another day wasted. I had to reschedule my inspection by ****.Business Response

We strongly dispute the complaint submitted by Ms. **** *****. Trailer Made has acted in good faith throughout this process and has provided extensive support far beyond what is required by our signed agreement.
Ms. ***** approved her final floor plan. The only deviation from the plan was the oven placement, which was adjusted to fit the dimensions of the new oven required. Prior to delivery, she was shown the layout in a video call with our team and through video/photos sent to her prior to delivery and raised no objections. After delivery, she requested changes, and we closed the door and repositioned the oven at no ***** $3,700 expense we absorbed.
She also later asked for one of the countertops to be reduced despite being in accordance with her approved floor plan and larger sinks, although the installed sinks also matched her approved layout. We replaced them free of chargea $1,400 value. We also addressed the cosmetic items she was unhappy with and paid for a second delivery of the trailer to her in ******
When she raised electrical concerns, we hired a licensed electrician near her location at our expense ($800). The issue was confirmed to be related to her external power supply, not a defect with the trailers wiring. Prior to this, she had an unauthorized electrician tamper with the wiring.
The 50A cords were not included in her invoice. We provided one cord as a courtesy so she could test the trailer. She later requested three additional cords, which would need to be invoiced separately.
We also covered DMV fees, ratcheting bars, and partial deliverytotaling approximately $770along with offering a $400/month rebate for October and November, all as additional goodwill.
Our contract clearly states that the warranty covers parts only (not labor), excludes cosmetic items, and does not cover third-party expenses or business losses. It also recommends clients obtain business interruption, liability, and contents insurance for such situations. Despite this, we covered more than $12,000 in parts, labor, service, and logistics to accommodate the clients requests.
Ms. ***** with held a portion of the final balance ($1,470) which should have been paid prior to delivery as per the terms of her agreement. We, in good faith, with the understanding that payment would be made after delivery and confirmation of satisfactory work agreed. Despite this, she has not paid the balance and continues to seek reimbursement for unrelated expenses. Ms. ***** has refused our final goodwill offer of a $3,906 credit and she continues to request compensation for personal travel and other expenses outside the scope of our agreement.
Ms. ***** has recently presented a new list of issues. We have made clear that we are still willing to address any concerns, provided the trailer is brought to our facility for inspection and service. This is our standard policy, and we apply it consistently with all clients. Unfortunately, Ms. ***** declined to bring the trailer in and instead filed this BBB complaint.
We believe we have fulfilled and exceeded all contractual obligations and have gone above and beyond to resolve every concern raised. We respectfully request this complaint be closed in favor of the business.

Complaint: 231837
I am rejecting this response because:Trailer Made has NOT fulfilled their contractual obligations, they have never completed this trailer so that it is able to pass inspection or be used one day. From ordering wrong equipment, to cutting another door in the side of the trailer, to using cheap materials, to not performing adequate quality checks before sending this trailer out, it has been a virtual nightmare for the last six months. I have spent countless hours, lost 6 months worth of business, I have spent my own money to try to resolve their problems. Not one of the items that is wrong, from wrong wiring, wrong plumbing, faulty electrical wiring, wrong equipment and shoddy work in general, none of these are warranty items, they are all manufacturer defects. I have also been in contact with the owners of (3) other trailers built by Trailer Made around the same time as mine that have had the same kinds of issues, one of which STILL doesn't know if everything has been fixed. I simply want the trailer defects resolved so that it may be put in to service and a refund of $2476 for the money I have spent. A total of $3906 less the $1450 I held in retention on the last payment. (Standard for construction contracts)
Their contract itself implied that I should consider loss of business insurance. Loss of business insurance does not cover these issues. If Trailer Made wants to continue in business, I suggest that they not only make me whole and do what's right but make the other 3 whole as well that I am communicating with.
Sincerely,
**** *****Business Response

To Whom It May Concern,
We appreciate the opportunity to respond formally on behalf of Trailer Made, in connection with the complaint submitted by Ms. **** *****. While we regret any customer dissatisfaction, the claims raised in this complaint lack context, omit critical facts, and fail to reflect the extraordinary efforts made by Trailer Made to resolve concernsmost of which were outside the scope of the signed agreement.
1. We Have Taken Full Responsibility Financially, Logistically, and Operationally
Throughout this process, Trailer Made has fully acknowledged the challenges that arose during the trailers production. ************************* immediately took ownership by absorbing the costs of all necessary corrections, labor, replacement parts, and transportation. These efforts include:
Closing and sealing a previously added oven access door
Repositioning and reinstalling the correct oven
Replacing upgraded sinks per customer preference ($1,300 value)
Paying for an independent, licensed electrician in ***** to investigate alleged power issues ($800)
Covering DMV fees, ratcheting bars, and partial delivery expenses (approx. $770)
Offering two months of business loss rebates totaling $800
In addition to all of this, Trailer Made absorbed over $6,500 in unbilled labor and logistics in order to rectify concernswell beyond the warranty terms.
2. We Have Repeatedly Worked Around the Clients Schedule
Ms. Perezs claim that she has lost six months of business due to this project is not accurate. There were significant delays not caused by Trailer Made, including:
The client bought the trailer back to our location to start the work in January 25th 2025 outside of normal business hours
Coordination delays due to third-party logistics constraints
Her expressed need to delay redelivery so she could personally inspect the trailer
Her own scheduling constraints as Desert Extravagance is open for business on Saturdays which required a Sunday meeting, which our team honored
3. We Draw the Line at Non-Contractual Compensation
We have now reached a point where Ms. ***** is seeking compensation for matters that have no basis under her signed agreement. These include:
Reimbursement for personal travel and inspection scheduling
Compensation for alleged income loss (which varies and cannot be substantiated)
Demands for additional parts not listed in her invoice (i.e., multiple 50A cables)
The contracts Sellers Warranty section clearly states :
Cosmetic Defects during Manufacturing: The Buyer acknowledges that the manufacturing process involves welding, metal cutting, and riveting, which may result in minor cosmetic defects on the food trailer. The Buyer accepts the trailer in accordance with prevailing industry standards, understanding that minor cosmetic imperfections are excluded from warranty claims
Cosmetic defects must be reported within 24 hours
Warranty coverage includes parts only, and does not include indirect losses
Business interruption insurance is strongly recommended to cover income loss
Ms. ***** elected not to carry this protection. That is her responsibilitynot Trailer Mades. (This was brought up in response to Ms. **** ***** request for $400 x 6 months she states she was out of business)
4. Our Offer to Repair Still StandsBut Must Follow Our Policy
We remain willing to inspect and address any concerns. However, as is standard policy, the trailer must be returned to our facility for proper inspection and resolution. Ms. ***** has refused to do this and instead filed a public complaint in an attempt to bypass procedure.
5. Pattern of Escalation and False Equivalence
Ms. ***** has mentioned lawsuits against other parties, including the City of *****, and has described issues with other vendors. While we will not speculate on motive, these statements raise concern about a pattern of adversarial behavior. Her references to other unnamed customers are unsubstantiated and irrelevant to this contract.
6. Inappropriate Pressure and Reputation Threats
Ms. Perezs comment, If Trailer Made wants to continue in business, is an unmistakable attempt to apply undue pressure and threaten the reputation of our company to obtain reimbursement beyond the scope of her contract. We want to be clear: this kind of tactic is not acceptable and does not reflect a genuine effort to resolve issues professionally.
We are a business that has consistently acted in good faith, delivered real value, and honored our commitments. We will not respond to coercive language or reputational threats disguised as feedback. Our decisions are guided by documented facts, contractual terms, and the high standards of service we upholdnot intimidation.
We are committed to running an honest, ethical, and responsible business. Comments intended to pressure us into action through public threats are both inappropriate and concerning, particularly in a forum intended for resolution. We welcome constructive dialoguebut not intimidation.
Trailer Made has served dozens of satisfied clients across the country and will continue to do so with integrity, professionalism, and transparency. We stand behind our work, our contracts, and the extraordinary efforts made in this case to resolve concerns well beyond what was contractually required.
Final Position:
Trailer Made has acted in good faith and fulfilled all contractual obligationsoften going well beyond what was required. This complaint is not a reflection of negligence or poor service, but rather a situation where the customer continues to shift expectations and pursue compensation outside the scope of what was agreed upon.
We will not be issuing any additional refunds. Our offer to address issues or provide continued warranty service at our facility remains open.
We respectfully request that this complaint be marked as closed and resolved in favor of the business.Customer Answer

I have attached pictures, emails and texts of the ongoing issues with this trailer . I have spoken with owners of other trailers that trailer made built that have had and are having the same issues. The trailer is a Chinese made trailer and has never functioned or passed inspection. Currently, the hot and cold water supply lines are reversed, the water heater doesnt get hot enough, there is a leak under the sink, one of the electrical outlets on the back of the trailer is pulling out of the wall because it is screwed into the fiberglass (not a box in the wall) with drywall screws. The cosmetic issues were not blemishes , they were safety hazards . Their electrician did not fix the outlets on the back of the trailer when they were there. I found a way to get the trailer back to them because they couldnt send someone until February . I had arranged to go and inspect the trailer in September but due to their mistakes , they delivered it in November . Please review all the documentation I have attached . Trailermade keeps citing warranty issues and the contract yet these arent warranty issues and they have not fulfilled their own contract. Loss of business insurance will not cover this and why do they suggest it in the first place? They have only offered a store credit towards another purchase with them and I certainly am not interested. If they continue doing business this way, they wont be in business long. I have tried working with them directly but they keep claiming warranty and out of contract scope. I have stayed off social media thus far but I simply need for the trailer to actually be funcional and reimbursed for my out of pocket. Without the trailer , I have been making $2k a month and would have made double or triple that with the trailer but Im willing to accept their offer of $400 per month. I have been more than reasonable . Coincidentally, I am not in any litigation with the city of ***** and they have ruined their own reputation.
