I have an *** shore power converter that came with my yacht I purchased in 2021. The prior owner bought it from *** in 2017 for $36k+ installation. I had no service contract with *** and neither did the prior owner, but *** suppressed its competition by engaging in anticompetitive conduct. The manufacturer of *** converters in ***** only has one authorized repair person in the entire *************, so I couldn't get a repair from them in a timely manner. The unit was preventing my boat from having electricity, so I hired one of ***'s former employees to fix it. Even though he knows how to perform repairs, *** refused to sell him *** parts to restore functionality, so he was forced to use substitute parts. The unit failed three weeks later, and *** told me it was due to *******'s incompetence. However, it was because *** unreasonably restricted our ability to purchase genuine replacement parts directly from ***. *** states on its website "ALL SPARE PARTS ARE ALWAYS AVAILABLE AT OUR HEADQUARTERS IN THE ** AND ****** AND CAN BE SHIPPED EXPRESS WORLDWIDE. OUR STAFF OF ENGINEERS AND TECHNICIANS IS AVAILABLE FOR TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND A FREE INSPECTION TO RECOMMEND THE IDEAL CONVERTER SIZE, AND SUGGEST THE EASIEST, SAFEST, AND LESS EXPENSIVE INSTALLATION." After the unit failed again, *** gave me an inspection report saying I needed to shut down the unit as it was no longer safe. The report stated "ONLY CERTIFIED AND AUTHORIZED *** TECHNICIANS ARE PROVIDED WITH ORIGINAL COMPONENT AND ARE AUTHORIZED TO WORK ON ANY *** PRODUCTS." I believe this conduct of gatekeeping parts which ultimately prevented me from having electricity on my boat for 8 months unreasonably restricted trade in violation of the ******* Act and the ******* Act, and the *** website is misleading in that it asserts that all parts will always be available, yet the only two people in the US "authorized" and therefore able to perform repairs with *** parts are ***** and *********, the owners of *** ********
