The owner did one hour of electrical wiring and a couple hours of electrical wiring and a couple hours to get initial permit, paperwork, Handed into city/county. The electrical project didn't officially start and wasn't to start until July and until bathroom contractor was done renovating bathroom. $`1,800.00 is an abusively extremely high charge for a couple hrs. to drive /input permits and an hour of electrical work! Again, he did not start project yet. We only called him to a little wire so we could install light bulbs, lighting fixtures and fan. He only did wiring for the bathroom. He did not install lighting fixtures/fan. He only added a little wire. He did not rewire bathroom. He absolutely overcharged me out of spite/anger for having to put electrical project on hold.

    Business Response

Subject: Response to complaint from Ms ******** .  ID ********

    Date: May 14, 2024

    Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to file a response to complaint from Ms.
    ******** submitted on 05/13/2024.  ID
******** regarding a contract dispute  in
relation to electrical work performed by ******* ******** at the property
    located at *** ** ******** ***., ******** *******, ** *****.

On 05/03/2023, ******* ******** was contracted by Ms.
******** to install a new electrical panel and replace cloth wiring throughout
her residence. Prior to commencing work, necessary calculations were done,
permits were acquired from the city of ******** and **** ******, and materials
    were procured for the job.

During the course of the project, Ms. ******** caused
delays by repeatedly changing the start date due to a separate bathroom
remodeling project. Despite these delays, ******* ******** accommodating Ms.
********'s request to prioritize wiring in the bathroom area. ******* ******** met
with Ms ******** and went over bathroom area of project. Returned the next day
and removed  wire in this area of the
residence making it safe to continue. After walls were moved, tub and vanity were
relocated and **oor trusses were replaced ******* ******** was called to
complete rough wiring in bathroom. This included boxes, wire and connections
for future fixtures to be installed after walls were drywalled and painted, Two
home-runs circuits were left rolled up under **oor that would be run to new
panel when installed. This would be for future bathroom ceiling fan, two ceiling
lights, vanity lights, **** outlets each side of vanity, switch box and three
    switches.

Following the completion of the bathroom remodeling,
Ms. ******** requested to cancel the electrical contract citing financial
constraints. In good faith, ******* ******** agreed to refund Ms. ******** for
the work not completed, minus costs incurred( Permits, plans, notice of
    commencement, ordering  and picking up
materials, returning and restocking fees for original materials) and materials
used for the bathroom portion of the project. This was explained in detail. Ms ********
was also given an invoice stating what charges were for, and cost for
cancelling the legally binding contract for electrical work before refunding
the difference to her. Additionally, ******* ******** offered to keep the
permit open for a limited time should Ms. ******** secure funding to resume the
electrical work at the original agreed-upon price. Minus what was being paid on
the invoice. This would have made it so she would not incur any addition cost
if she started a new contract for the original work not completed on the
    discontinued contract.

    Subsequently, ******* ******** received a call from a
family member of Ms. ********, He was completing the work on the bathroom, which
included the structural work on walls and **oor trusses. As well as the
plumbing work to relocate tub, toilet and vanity with drain lines and water
lines in bathroom. He demanded a full refund, and made threats towards the
company, asserting that the family would come after me personally, and Ms
******** intended to take legal action. He said that Ms ******** needed to pay
him for the work she contracted with him to do the bathroom remodel and
complete electrical work. ******* ******** let him know that our contract was
with Ms ******** and that nothing would be discussed with him and ended the
    call.

The family member in question is not a licensed
contractor, General contractor, Plumbing contractor or Electrical contractor in **orida
or any other state. He is not legally allowed to do any of the work listed.

Ms ******** called immediately after. Ms ******** was
yelling on the phone stating that the same family member told her she was charged
to much. That it should have been only a couple of hundred dollars and that she
needed to pay him and did not have enough money. She wanted a full refund.
******* ******** let her know that the price was more then fair and would not
be refunding any more money. That the family member giving her this information
was incorrect and she needed to work that out with him. Because I would not
agree. Ms ******** continued yelling on the phone stating I was not treating
her properly. ******* ******** then let her know that if she continued acting
that way on the phone the phone call would be ended. She continued so the call
    was ended.

We wish to highlight that ******* ******** operates
under the guidelines and regulations set forth by the ********** of ********
and ************ **********, ensuring that all work is carried out by licensed
and qualified personnel to maintain safety and compliance with industry
standards. ******* ******** was threatened by Ms ******** and her family member
doing work at her residence. With the information given in both phone calls she
intended to have her family member complete work under ******* ********’s
permit. This could be considered aiding an imbedding an illegal contractor by
the **** in **orida. ******* ******** then immediately discontinued permits
with city and county and notified both that work started had not been
inspected, and that Ms ******** had discontinued contract with Dempsey
    Electric.

It is imperative to note that Ms. ******** failed to
appropriately allocate funds for the contracted electrical work, leading to a
breach of the agreement. Ms ******** waited over a year to file this complaint,
and tried to use ******* ********’s kindness to allow her family member to illegally
contract work with our permit and that the amount charged for everything
involved was more then fair. ******* ******** acted in good faith throughout
the process, providing services as outlined in the contract and offering
reasonable solutions when faced with unforeseen circumstances.

We kindly request your assistance in resolving this
matter and ensuring that Ms. ******** refrains from engaging unlicensed
individuals to perform electrical work that poses potential risks to both
parties involved. We trust that the ****** ******** Bureau will address this
    complaint promptly and fairly.

Attached to Email is original signed Contract, and
signed invoice when Ms ******** cancelled contract.

Please feel free to contact us at ************ or *************************  for any further clarification or information
    required.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

    Sincerely,

    ****** *******
    Owner
    ******* ********
