When I call this company, they told me that the inspection of my septic system was free. Upon arrival the technician started telling me I was going to have to make several expensive repairs of my 2-year-old septic system: new venting pipes in the house, new drain field, possibly and entire new septic system. Then he got out his septic camera and spent about 3 minutes with the camera down the clean-out drain pipe. When I told him that I just wanted to start with pumping out the tank and asked how much that would cost. He said he didnt know and would have to call his office. Upon hanging up from his office he told me that it would be $550.00 to pump the tank. When I said I would have to let them know, I was handed a bill for $250.00. I asked what the $250.00 bill was for, he said that is what is costs to use the camera. I told him that I would have never approved the expense if I had known that there was an expense involved, let alone a $250.00 expense for 3 minute use of the camera. I called the office after the technician left and asked if the $250.00 was applied to the cost of pumping out the tank. I was told, no, that pumping out the tank was a separate service. A few minutes later, ******, who said that he was the manager, called me and said he would give me a $100.00 break on pumping out the tank. This company said inspections were free. I was never advised that there would be a $250.00 charge for the camera. If I had known that I would not have agreed to it! I should have been told that there was a $250.00 charge! ************************* came out and for $275.00 inspected the system (it is in good working order!) pumped the tank and cleaned/cleared the filter, the cause of the trouble! No hidden expenses. It is dishonest to say something is free and then charge the customer $250.00. If the company does something that is not in the free inspection, the customer has to be informed ad given an opportunity to decline the service.
