On ******** *** ****, I paid ******** for a new RV from Sunshine State RV of Gainesville, Florida. They stated it would be delivered to me in Montana and would be “ready to go camping”. It arrived with two problems. A drawer wouldn’t remain shut and the chassis battery was not charging the house batteries. This “new” RV then spent the next three months with an RV repair technician. He had to have the generator fixed, replace the inverter, replace the transfer switch, replaced the two hydraulic hoses that were burned, the toilet seat was broken, the shower door was broken, the container for the sewer hose was broken off, the right rear inner tire was completely shredded, the windows leak and there is mold near the dinette table. The solar panels still do not charge the coach batteries and I have yet to have them fixed. In addition, there was toilet paper in the black tank of this “new” RV, meaning someone had used it. They said the driver would not be using the toilet so it must have been used before.
I have sent two emails to Sunshine State RV and have gotten no response. They were very fraudulent in their sale of this “new” RV.

I would like to be reimbursed $****** of the ******** that I paid for this supposedly new unused RV. I had to cancel all of my travel plans I had made. The RV is still being repaired and I don’t know when it will be serviceable. They claim that they do a *** point inspection on every RV that they advertise but obviously did not do that with this one. I feel they were taking advantage of a senior citizen, who lives far away from their dealership.

In addition, they told me I had to lie to their lending institution in order to get a loan. They said I could not get a loan if they knew that the RV was being delivered to me in Montana. I had to sign a paper saying that I picked up the RV in person in Florida on ******** *** ****.  This is so fraudulent.

This was to be included with the last comment I made regarding reimbursement.

Another option to make this right would be to reimburse me the ******** and send their driver to Montana to pick it up. The RV has most of the repairs made and will soon have them completed.  They can sell it as a USED RV. I am willing to forfeit the $**** I paid for a new set of tires, the $***** I have paid to the loan company and the $*** I paid Mercedes Benz for the Schedule A service.

    Business Response

I am very sorry that you have had these problems in the last * months.  I am very thankful that the manufacturer of the RV, Chinook, has paid for all of the repairs that you have needed to be done.  That is one reason that we only partner with the best RV Manufactures in the industry.  I know that there was a repair (tire replacement) that you had to pay for out of pocket and I am happy to reimburse you for it. We do an inspection on every RV before they leave and I am very sorry if some of these things got missed.  I know that you have owned the RV for * months now and we delivered it to you over ***** miles away.  So I am not sure what malfunctioned on the trip to you or in the last * months.  But with only two small issues that were wrong with the rv when you got it and now all of these other issues, I cannot imagine what happened???  But this is NEVER our goal to have these types of issues.  We try really hard to make sure that the RVs are perfect when they leave Florida.  Some of the items on our checklist must have been missed. Again, I am very sorry for that.  The driver that delivered the RV to you delivers about ** RV a year for us and has been with us for ** years.  There is no way that he used your toilet and put toilet paper in it.  That is not to say that a tech at one of the service shops you brought it to didn't use your bathroom.  We have never had a single complaint about our driver and never had a situation where this has happened.  We have received your emails and you have talked to ******* two or three times this week.  He handles our post sale issues.

Going forward, I am going to make sure that every RV that leaves here gets a double or triple check, so that no one ever has to go through this again.  This is only going to make us better.

Please send us the bill for the tire and we will get that taken care of asap.

    thank you

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved]

     Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

**** ******* is denying the fact that this RV arrived with ALL of the problems I described. I only had the RV for four days before it was delivered to a mobile RV tech, who was approved by the CEO of Chinook. The RV was stored at his house, where he worked on it as weather allowed,  and he NEVER used the toilet in this RV.  If he needs verification of all of the problems that came with this new RV he can call **** ******, the CEO of Chinook. I worked very closely with **** and he knows that this RV was delivered with this multitude of problems.   Nick offered to pay for the shredded tire.  Since there were so many other problems with the RV I replaced all six tires out of precaution.

    Regards,

    **** ********
