On Friday June 3rd, 2022, at 10 a.m. I took my Toyota Mark 2 JZX90, owned since 2017, to a shop called “Kustom Touch” in Gulf Breeze FL. At approximately 4 p.m. I go to pick up the vehicle. Upon seeing my vehicle, I take a photo of it, reverse parked between a Hummer and Lamborghini in front of the shop. Inside the shop another customer’s Jeep is up on a lift under repairs. While paying inside I remote started my vehicle to warm it up, I had to leave quickly to watch my children. Shortly after remote starting the vehicle, a massive crash is heard. The employee helping me says “I’m glad I wasn’t in there”, I nod agreeingly without realizing what occurred. I had thought the Jeep inside fell off the lift but when I walk outside, I find a scene of horror. My car is inside of the shop, smashed up against the ramps of the lift, my vehicle and the shop’s ramp were damaged, thankfully no damage came to anyone or to the other customer’s car. My vehicle was still trying to drive itself and starts smoking profusely, everyone in the shop begins to evacuate, until one employee goes under my car’s hood and moves something around stopping the movement. I am left sitting there, the owner was in the shop, and no one helps me. They offer to reimburse the $100 paid for the initial job (which I denied) and start accusing me of the problem before I have time to piece together what truly happened. The last employee to touch the vehicle left the Manual vehicle in 1st gear with no emergency brake on stating he didn’t know how to set it. I was never called or told the brake wasn’t set, nor did I know or ever have an issue with my many years of owning said vehicle. When I remote started the vehicle with it being left in first gear and no emergency brake set (Manual), the car started and took off into the shop. I was blamed for the issues and the owner of the shop never made amends for what happened . Several days after the incident I suffered a total loss house fire that came from the car
