    I, ******************** Paint And Body Shop, brought a battery charger from Matco Tools Co. Steve Hamlow is the salesman for this co.I Took it back to him because it wasn't charging. And he kept it for two weeks, and never returned it.He passed my shop twice, and never told me what was going on with my battery charger. After he passed the shop the second time, he didn't stop. I got in my car and went behind him to his next stop. And asked him what was going on with my charger. He told me he was able to charge it. But he burned it up and the charger is no good anymore. He said the wire was to small. If that was the case, why didn't it burn up with me. He stated there is nothing he could do about it. But he burned it up. He is responsible for my battery charger.

         I understand the customers frustration, however, the statements made are not entirely accurate.  This is a customer who I see  once in a while; he is not a stop that I regularly go to, and therefore, I did pass him by two weeks in a row, and he did chase me down in his car.  Yet, when he came on my truck I apologized for forgeting to come see him.  As far as his Versa Pro 3 is concerned,  he brought me the device with a charger, told me it would not charge and left it with me.  I looked over the device and immediately noticed that the *** C charging connection looked slightly burnt and warped. I then proceeded to plug the device in to see if it would charge.  Once I plugged in the device it began to charge, and therefore, I left it charging.  The next day, I smelled something burning and realized the smell was coming from his Versa Pro 3.  I immediately unplugged it and began examining the device and found that the charging adapter he was using was not the correct one.  He was using an adapter that was too small.  

         When the customer came to see me, I apologized for not stopping by to see him, and then I explained what happened,  I told him about the issues I had seen and that the charging block he was using did not have enough power to charge the device.  I never told him that his chord was too thin.  He claimed he never gave me that charging block; which is untrue.  I told him that unfortunately there was nothing I could do because he caused the problem by using the wrong charging block.  The customer angrily took his equipment and left.  After he was gone, I checked his warranty to see if I could replace his device, but regretfully, it was out of date. I do not want my customer to be angry, but the matter is out of my hands.  I am willing to contact Matco and see if there is anything they can do for him, if he wishes.  I am more than willing to try to help him and make things right.

    Matco will replace my device.
