Allied Auto Glass replaced my windshield on my 2021 ***** CRV on January 6, 2024. In the process they pulled out the wiring harness that runs from the roof to the windshield, rendering my car inoperable. I had to tow my car to the ***** dealership to have it assessed. To repair this damage I have received an estimate of $1,189.00 from Ocean *****. I paid Ocean ***** $189.95 for the assessment and temporary fix. Allied refuses to pay for the assessment or complete repair. They admit that there was nothing wrong with the car when they started the work and admit that there were defects when they were done but can't explain how. The dealership took pictures of the damaged wiring harness and sent them to me. It's obvious that the harness was pulled hard enough to break the wiring insulation exposing the copper strands thus when they touched each other everything shorted.Resolution wanted: Return the condition of the vehicle to the condition it was when they started replacing the windshield. Pay the $1,189.00 to make the repair.*The windshield replacement was paid for by my auto insurance and there is no recourse through them.

Our recalibration company said that this was pre-existing damage. We asked the customer to get his dealership to send us a description and their assessment of the probable cause of the damage. He said that he would send us the dealership info but it never came. We assumed that they explained to him that no such damage could occur when replacing a windshield.

I am rejecting this response because:

The business admitted that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the vehicle when they came to replace the windshield. When they were done, the wires at the harness connection were pulled out (see pictures of pulled wires. Pictures were provided by dealership). The dealership made a temporary repair for $189 (see invoice attached). As you can see the wires were pulled from the harness. Since everything worked fine when they started working on the vehicle, how could there have been a "preexisting condition"? Logically,  they pulled the wires in the process of windshield replacement. A permanent repair needs to be made by the business.

    Sincerely,
