      Better Business Bureau:

      The advertising on line versus the store is misleading and terrible for customer service,  it creates problems. We spent enough time on this, thanks for the help BBB and responses from ACE.

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********* and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

      ***** ******said “Bring back the 50 bags and I’ll give you a refund.” I said the add clearly states the sale price is still in effect to which he said: “I could say I’m a French model online, it doesn’t mean it is true.” Again, he wanted no part of a conversation or acknowledgement of the ACE ad. He completely disregarded the ad even though it was specific to this location as a ’local ad’ online.

      Ronnie was very aggressive in his tone and attitude, something I am not used to at ACE. He clearly had no interest in working on this and with his comments was trying to egg me on while also saying essentially get lost I am not helping you.

      I have attached a copy of the page of the circular that clearly states the price, timeframe and store location along with my receipt. Despite the extra trip to the store, the poor treatment and aggravation here, I only want $26.32 credited back to my **** or a check sent to the address in this complaint. (The amount is $25.00 for the sale price credit plus sales tax.)

      Mr. ****** came in on 2/22/23 to buy black mulch, the mulch did not ring up on sale as the sale ended on 2/19/23 (as dated on the ad, see attached) Mr. ****** spoke to my supervisor about the price, My supervisor said that the sale price of $2.50 was over and showed Mr. ****** the flyer, so the mulch was now back to regular price at $3.59 but she would sell it to him for $3.00 a bag. Mr. ****** agreed to the price given to him by my supervisor and also a $35 delivery fee bc Mr. ****** wanted the mulch delivered. Later Mr. ****** spoke to my manager Ronnie about the price difference and demanded a refund for the difference in price. Ronnie explained to him that the mulch was no longer on sale and we could not do that. Mr. ****** became angry and was being rude to my manager and proceeded to tell him he should go back to whatever country he came from, well Ronnie is Puerto Rican so this is his home country. Neither here nor there Mr. ****** told Ronnie that he will just dispute the charge on his ******** ******* and he will just get his money that way. At that point Ronnie called me (Jennifer A****, Office Manager) I just told Ronnie to refund Mr. ****** the full amount for the mulch and delivery fee as we will not be delivering the mulch to him any longer (see attached refund) We at Madden's Ace Hardware will not tolerate our employees being abused by anyone. At this point I believe it is in everyone's best interest to just be done with this situation. We tried to present the best solution we had for the situation but obviously were unable to please Mr. ******. We apologize for any inconvenience.

      The Ad that you have attached clearly states that the Ace Reward Instant Savings are good 2/1/23-2/28/23. Those are offered by Ace Corporate, the mulch sale was NOT a instant saving.
