    I called the dental office on 5/18 to cancel my appointment, after I had been in the emergency room the same morning until 3am due to pregnancy complications. I advised the office of this and was told that it was understood and canceled. Moments later, I received a call from ***** who advised me that I would be charged a $45 cancellation fee because it was my 2nd same day cancelation. (NOTE: The first time was due to COVID, which they had also been understanding of). I told ***** that I had proof that I was to remain on rest at home and that the ** visit was not expected nor planned. She said someone would contact me. The next morning, 5/19, around 9:30, I called back and spoke with ***** again to see if I could speak with someone. She stated that the dentist would need to answer any more questions and that he has decided to charge me $50 now instead of $45. I believe this to be due to the fact that I left a review on ****** the night before. I told her that was not acceptable because I never signed to nor agreed to this $5 increase. She told me that she could not tell me anymore than that. I then called back a few moments later and asked her if the office was part of the South Florida *************************** because I wanted to file a claim and needed to know which route to take. She said she was not allowed to tell me anything else and to call back on Tuesday when *******, the office manager, would return. She said the doctor will not allow her to answer any more of my questions. As a result, I have contacted ****************** of *********** and Consumer affairs.
