I had a service tech come out to my house and do a free maintenance for my air conditioner. I am very impressed with the customer service of the technicians. They inspected my air handler and said that it was old and full of mildew. They said they could put a light in it or replace my whole unit which was not up to code or working properly. It had been running for years without me having any issues with it. I opted to have it replaced even though the air conditioning unit outside was relatively new since I did not want to have any other issues with my air conditioning. However, after the install in March I have had to call the technician three times for my air conditioner turning off. Each time was a different issue. This final time I asked if there was something wrong with my air conditioner and I wanted the issue resolved so that this didnt happen again since this was the reason I wanted a new air conditioner, so that it would not break down. After some extensive research by the technician, he said that it was my duck system and the way it was set up it was not working with the air conditioner unit. And now they want to charge me thousands of dollars to fix my ductwork. I feel that if this were an issue to begin with they shouldve told me when they sold me the unit initially. I do not want to keep fixing the different problems just so my air conditioner will work properly and they said that if I dont fix anything, the motor will burn up and I will need to fix that problem. I would like this issue resolved without me having to keep putting money into it just so the unit that they sold me will run properly.

Had new AC and air handler installed @12/13/2021 and since then they have been here 10 times to repair. Have videos of poor installation of air handler. Several Av from leaks and now my garage was half flooded from leaks that repair man says was from a switch turned the wrong way and not vented. I am now sitting in an 87 degree home with no ac. I have repeatedly asked for a new unit to no avail and now they want to charge me service calls. Please help before I expire from heat and dehydration.

It is correct *************** did have multiple service calls on her new heat pump. However, each and every time we arrived promptly at no charge to assess the issues even on weekends and after hours incurring no fees. There were mechanical issues with the refrigerant monitoring devices and refrigerant loss. The factory representative was also involved. Eventually the problem was resolved. If there were any issues with the installation they were also corrected. There were no issues with the final installation it was done properly and correctly. Most recently over two years after the installation she called in for a service call the fee was a $69.00 trip charge that would be waived if it was a related to manufacturing warranty. Upon arrival we found the unit not draining properly due to the float switch turned upright, we corrected the problem, and the unit is draining properly. Keep in mind the switch was not in that position on the last visit. Five Star Heating & Cooling is not responsible for drain lines, that is a plumbing issue which is stated in our contract. Finally, there is no need for a new unit, and we have not yet received payment for our services.
