    Complaint: *****************************************************************************************************************************************************

I am rejecting this response because: Bay to Bay roofing was hired to do a complete roofing replacement including any and all repairs needed. We were told during the sales meeting with their company salesman that any and all defects that were found during the repair and replacement would be addressed. They were not! We did not have any interior damage to our home before from our old roof. Our home owners insurance decided we needed a new roof because of the age of our roof. We did not have any leaks or interior damage. They were hired to replace any and all plywood that was damaged. They did not do this. When I called the company after the interior damage was discovered and they came out and did replace the flashing and plywood with obvious rot. I do have pictures of the roof damage when they opened up the new roof. The flashing is part of the roof structure. They replaced the south flashing but not the north facing flashing. We paid them $16,500 to give us a new roof. We also purchased the extended warranty. A 25 year warranty. They did a huge patch where the damage happened using nearly a 5 gallon bucket of roofing tar. This repair will not last the life of a new roof. I want that section of our roof completely replaced and out of pocket expenses including our $2,500 insurance deductible and $2,100 in damages beyond our mold remediation coverage.
This company caused the damage to our home for $16,500 insurance claims. I do have photo proof all along the damage restoration including the roof plywood holes after the shingles were removed. There was extensive plywood rot that should have never happened in 13 months after a new roof application. The top plate of the interior wall was so rotten that it could be removed by hand.  The mold was extensive to the affected interior wall. This company is negligent or they simply do not care. During the roofing application there was a project manager that never got on the roof. The roofing crew were the only staff on our roof. We did not go out and try to manage this roofing job. We trusted Bay to Bay Roofing to supply the contract completion as this is what we paid for.
Bay to Bay roofing evaded my many calls for answers. I called at least six times with promise of a response in a few days.they never returned my calls. I have filed a complaint against this company with the ************************. You cannot do a roof job and then refuse to correct a serious problem and leave a customer without any options. We trusted ********************** with our home and our money. They have insurance coverage for their company too.  We will settle for nothing less than a complete roof replacement on the section of the major damage.

    Sincerely,

    ******** *******

s damage was $2,500. When I hired this company I did so by their reputation. I have called their company at least 8 times since the date of the damage asking that they reimburse our out of pocket expenses totaling $2,900 and the section of the roof to be replaced where the damage occurred. We paid for an extended warranty with our roofing contract. The damages were caused by shoddy workmanship during roofing application which caused extensive damage to our ******* last call to them on June 19, 2025 I was informed that they would not fix the roof or help with any further issues and it would be fine if I contacted a lawyer to address the damages. My lawyer could contact their lawyer.

We have been out to this home a couple times to resolve the issue.  When the customer hired us there was already damage. We replaced the roof it was inspected by county and passed.  The flashing wassiding is not in the scope of work we were hired for. We still went out after roof completed and went above and beyond the scope we were hired for and fixed the problem.  As for the repairs inside the home the roof was already needing replacing and had issues which is why they needed a new roof in the first place. We were not responsible for the damages.

    Business Response

    Date: 07/10/2025

We did what we were hired and contracted to do and we resolved the issue of the leak.  There is nothing further for us to do.  We will not be replacing the roof area that is already done and not leaking.

I am rejecting this response because: I had 2 roofers come out to give their opinion and both said it is a bad job and will give me a price to correct. Bay to Bay quoted me $5000.00 to fix their own work.

This roof has passed inspection and is to code.  The customer  does not like how the cement is thick but it is how we do our tile roofs and is not done incorrectly.

    Business Response

    Date: 05/20/2025

We have called and spoken with the Tile Manufacturer Eagle who have assured us that we have installed the tile appropriately.

The customer is upset over aesthetic/cosmetic aspects of the roof that do not cause any issues with the functionality of the roof. The mortar was installed thick to avoid any thinning or cracking in the future.

We did provide a quote to the customer to fix the mortar to their liking, there is a charge for this as again the roof is fully passed by inspections and has no functioning issues.

I am rejecting this response because: Please see attached two docments. The Eagles brochure on how the cement on the ridge line is to look and a picture of Bay to Bay's installation. I had two roofers who advised me that the cement work is sloppy at best and I have a quote to correct. If Bay to Bay does not correct I will have another roofing company correct the sloppy cement work and deduct tthe correction bill from the last inoice payment.

I am rejecting this response because:

The clearly some miscommunication between the contractor/crew and Bay to Bay Roofing. There was a full day of work performed on Wednesday Nov 27th 2024. Please see attached picture 2041109_1921 (11-09-24) of before the contractor arrived on site to after repair picture 20241218_1140 (12-18-24). The roof was left exposed after work on Wednesday 11-27-24. A return date was giving on Wednesday by Contractor **** of Friday 11-29-24, but no one returned on this date.  Major leaks in the house reported by our onsite guest on Friday 11-29-24. Down the interior wall and floor. Please see attached pdf file (Message From Guest 11-29-24).

According to the contractor the work performed all day Wednesday was "Remove 12LF along wall Flashing on front of home by 2-3ft out as needed to bare wood". "Remove and replace damaged decking". At the end of day 11-27-24,  He said he was to return on Friday 11-29-24 to complete.

Also we were assured that upon starting the repair measure would be taken to prevent damage over the delay period which was expected over Thanksgiving Day.

Again currently it is a fair gesture to paid f half the repairs of the interior repair as we are offering to split it. The damage was preventable by the roofing company and is well documented with pictures and testimony.

calls or notifications as we requested before arriving, they just showed up unannounced.I flew down and met with *** from Bay to Bay roofing on Dec 18th 2024. I asked him why their roof was left open and not tarped to prevent damages if they were not going to return as planned on Friday 29th. I believe he was as surprised as I was, and I asked him to take pictures and show the office. I also told him I had drywall repair company scheduled that afternoon to get an estimate to repair. I advised him that after repairs, we would be requesting an adjustment. The repair was made Jan 6th 2025 and I send the paid invoice to *** to ***. No Response, ***** spoke with **** requesting the contract. **** said Bay to *** is not responsible for additional damage. After receiving the contract, there is nothing stating in their contract that they not liable for damages or negligence during the repair.I spoke with **** again on Feb 4th 2025 and he suggested I speak with Raven, Feb 6t

    Business Response

    Date: 04/23/2025

We were hired to do a repair.  The repair was for an active leak.  We went out the week of Thanksgiving to preview it and see what materials we needed to complete the project.  We did not damage the repair area anymore then what was already there. We came back the following week and repaired the leak and there had been no further leaking.  The homeowner did not hire us to tarp the roof.  We started and completed the repair in the timely fashion that we were contracted to do.  The homeowner is responsible for their own repairs fron the leak that they had before they contracted with us.   They already had damage and we could not get the repair completed any sooner.  It did unfortunetly rain from the time they signed the contract until the date we completed but that is not in our control and we should not be punished for the homeowner not hiring someone to fix the repair sooner.

    Business Response

    Date: 05/07/2025

These comments are all hearsay by the customer.  We were hired to do a job that was an active leak.  We went out to the job and did not create a bigger leak then existed. We gathered the necessary materials and then we went back.  We can not control the weather and we went back at our earliest convenience to fix the leak well within our contracted time frame.  Customer is wanting us to pay for damages that were from an existing leak.  It is unfortunate but still not our fault that the customer did not hire us sooner and waited until the leak was already so bad.

I am rejecting this response because:

Bay to Bay Roofing is not being honest with this complaint. The initial contact with the company was Oct 25th 2025 and the only delays would be due to their schedule. Heavy Damage was post 11-27-2025 (See Attached Pictures, Before and After).   It clearly spent a full day on Wednesday 11-27-2025 working on the roof and it was left exposed to the elements. We understand getting materials but the house should have been secured to prevent further damages especially during rain if they were not going to return for a week.  We are not the only complaints with the Better Business Bureau for Bay to Bay and we will be seeking assistance with license in board and legal if we are unable to come to a fair resolution.

By rights the company should covering the full cost of the interior repairs due to the week of negligence during the repair, but currently to reach a resolution and out of good faith we are offering to split these charges with them. If we proceed to Legal we will be seeking damages Plus cost and all fees, expenses etc.

Pictures are clear of the damage before and after the Bay to Bay repair.

    Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because:The company had originally taken responsibility for the tire damage. I was offered a settlement which I took to the Association to ********* their response to the BBB complaint. Now they are changing their response to my complaint. By their response to this complaint they show No Honor in their dealings

    Sincerely,

***** ******** complaintth the BBB. I was told that Bay To Bay refused to pay All the damages they caused due to materials issues? I am still looking for a settlement on my tire. They acknowledged it was their nail in the tire! By making an insufficient offer on tire replacement. I'm a Senior Citizen and they are responsible for Me having to buy a new tire!!! I have the nail but the tire was kept by Tire Kingdom.I told both the company Rep that saw the tire and Leya on the telephone. That the tire couldn't be Repaired due to the nail in sidewall. The AAA plus three tire companys told me.

This person is not a customer of ours.  We were installing a roof which is considered a construction site.  We have no way to know how the damage to his tires were done.  We also are not responsible when someone had damage to their tires.  We have that stated on our signed contract.  Thanks You

Bay to Bay Roofing installed a new roof on my house in July 2020. Since then, they have been out approximately 8 times to repair a leak in the same place. Most recently, they "repaired" the area again in July 2024. Immediately afterwards, the area began leaking again. Over the last month and a half, I have been on the phone with them numerous times attempting to get the problem resolved. I have had a supervisor inspect the area and send out a crew that did none of the repairs they stated they would do. After numerous more calls to them, promises of returned calls and another inspection from a supervisor, all which never happened, they are now telling me I am "out of warranty" and there is nothing else they can do for me, despite the fact that this leak got worse 2 months ago immediately after they did work on the area.

The customer was and is no longer under warranty.  As a courtesy we have tried to help he out and it is not a warrantied roofing issue.  Please have her supply a copy of her warranty.  Labor warranty has been expiired since 7/20/2021. Thank You.

During re-roofing of two buildings in our condo complex, a resident got a flat tire from one of the roofing nails. The owner of the vehicle got a new tire for his vehicle (would not accept a repair of the tire) and Bay-to-Bay would only offer a $100 settlement. Owner refused offer. Total cost of tire $214.29.A resident came home to find her air conditioner was not operating. The air unit was disconnected by Bay-to-Bay in order to replace the roof and put the air unit on a stand per code. Owner called her own air service company and had the unit repaired due to the fact the unit was not reconnected properly. She is a shift worker and has two dogs who were found in her unit with no air and the temperature soaring. Bay-to-Bay will not reimburse the owner the $914 repair bill because our Association did not notify them a repair was needed and wait for them to send their repair person. We have attempted to get Bay-to-Bay to settle this dispute, but they refuse to do so.

    Business Response

    Date: 08/01/2024

We tried to give the owner of the car a prorated amount for tire even though there is no proof the nail came from us.  As for the ** no one called us to inform us that there was a problem so we could rectify it and see what the cause was.  We only received a bill after the fact.

My roof has standing water on it and I was informed that the life of the roof was being impacted negatively. At the time of installation I asked about the standing water and was told that it had 24 hours to dry.  I was relying upon their expertise. Now I'm told that my roof has maybe 5 years left , that's why I was asking about the warranty, and now find out I have none.  I want to know what they are going to do to rectify the situation since they never applied for the 2 warranty,  they sent for the shingles but not the flat roof.

    Thank you

The customer has not informed us as to what is wrong with the Flat Roof he only asked us for the warranty for the flat roof. His Labor Warranty was for 1 year on both roofs and then each Manufacture has their own warranty.

    Business Response

They did not register for a warranty and they do not have one.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: Their reply is incorrect. Bay to Bay Roofing photographed the damage in August 2022. (See email dated AUG. 8, 2022.) Your employee said she (*******) would be submitting a work order that could take up to five days. No one called. I do not have documentation of the phone calls but I saved the emails.

I emailed again in January 2023. I said I would repair the damage to the garage door track but again, asked Bay to Bay Roofing to repair the ceiling. Someone was out to photograph the damage but I heard nothing further.

I emailed BAY to BAY Roofing in early October. Someone called me back and said the repairs were not covered "per the fine print on the back of the contract". I sent Bay-to-Bay Roofing a copy of the front and rear of my contract on October 13 and a copy of the repair estimate dated October 12. I received no response from the company or any of their employees.

The repair work was not done by another contractor until October *****, 2023. They were able to call me offer their "fine print" exclusion excuse. They could have called me to schedule repairs.

Bay to Bay Roofing knew for more than a year that the leak damaged my garage ceiling and that I wanted it repaired. They made no attempt to make repairs and offered nothing but excuses.

All of the emails are in the *** I sent. Please let me know if you need anything else.

    Sincerely,

    *************************

on of the roof, not for repairs. I am seeking a refund of $1494 for the amount of the ceiling repairs.

    Business Response

    Date: 11/14/2023

In response to ***************, we went out and fixed the leak on the roof and 2 years went by over the span of the covid pandemic and hurricanes. A lot of time had passed and we had not heard from her about the ceiling since we fixed the roof. The staff that she was in communication with from our company no longer work for Bay to Bay Roofing and haven't for quite some time, therefore no one in our office was aware of the situation until *************** sent an email about someone coming the next day to do the ceiling repair in her garage without giving us the chance to send one of our in-house crews out to fix the problem. Which we would have been able to fix for a small fraction of the cost as compared to the amount of money she had it done for, we offered her $250 towards her drywall which is more than it would have cost us to repair it ourselves, which she refused.

demanded he did come. He sent two workers who were there for over an hour. They had to remove nails that were incorrectly nailed in several areas and conceded that the installation was not good. He observed the water and damage in our master bedroom. We were told to send the photos of the damage to the ceiling & did so on 9/21/22, 9/30/22, & 10/4/22 & got no response. I called Bay to Bay Roofing on 10/7/22 & resent them.On 10/10/22, Bay to Bay Roofing said: "Looking over the photos with our drywall contractors, this does not appear to be new damage, however standard wear and tear. Combined with the fact that this was not brought to our attention until weeks after the roof was completed, and that our contract specifically states we are not responsible for interior damages (line 20, and line 7 specifically) we are not responsible for these damages."We just had an appraisal of our home in May 2022 & there was no damage. We would greatly appreciate any advice/help to get it repaired.
