      I contracted this company to replace all my electrical and rewire in my home that I was purchasing. He was contracted in writing to remove all of the knob and tube wiring put in a new panel and rewire my house. The reason why this is so late in filing, is because I did not discover That he didn’t remove the knob and tube until I went to replace a light fixture. That light fixture was connected to knob and tube, and I literally could not shut the electricity off at the box on this wire. I contacted him and he said that I wasn’t under warranty any longer, and refused to do anything about it .

      Vilano Electric completed the removal of knob and tube wiring as well as rewiring the whole house. While completing our scope, Ms. ****** demanded work to be completed that was not included in our original proposal leading to the price increase. We did charge her our cost for the entire job due to Ms. ****** being a single elderly lady.

      Our company policy states that a one year warranty on any work we do is effective the day of substantial completion. Although Ms. ****** did not request a formal warranty letter, this policy would still stand.

      On 05/25/2021, we received check **** in the amount of $2,000.00. After applied to the invoice for the work, this left a balance of $2,678.00. After 2 months of not receiving any communication from Ms. ****** regarding the final payment of $2,678.00, Vilano Electric decided to write the amount off as Bad Debt rather than pursuing legal action by filing a lien on an elderly woman. 

      Around two weeks ago from today, 06/11/2024, Ms. ****** called us demanding for us to come back out to her home and fix some issues that were arising, that were no fault of ours, at no cost. Due to the unpaid debt from Ms. ******, the warranty expiring, and the disrespect we were receiving, we felt it was not in our best interest to return to Ms. ******'s home.

I did in fact communicate with him after he walked off the job he walked off the job because he came with another invoice with an added amount that he wanted that was not included in the contract. I refused to pay any additional amounts.
