I went online to check on my bill. I was stunned to see that my policy had been canceled a week ago . I was never notified by Citizens or my Agent . Time to file a complaint with my state representative. Citizens is completely out of control . All I see online are negative reviews !!!

If I own my home outright AND Im not in a flood zone, I should not be FORCED to purchase flood insurance. My house my ******. Even if I do not own my house outright, I should not be forced to purchase flood insurance to carry homeowners insurance. This should be illegal- forcing people to buy coverage they do not want or need.

Had a policy with Citizen Insurance ********. They sent us notice they were note going to renew because we could not provide contractor receipt for replacing kitchen sink faucet. Not sure why someone would need a contractor to replace a $50 faucet that we replaced ourselves. So we got new insurance with another company and notified our escrow company. Escrow paid Citizens by mistake and Citizen refuses to refund the money, while not insuring the property. This has been going on since August 31, 2023.

Completely inept. The right hand has no idea what the left is doing. It has been nothing but aggravation and I have never even submitted a claim.

They are an unfair and awful company. Gives insurance then cancels without my notice, but then does not return all your money. Vague in their letters. They do not consider information provided by a licensed inspector who you are required to have an pay as part of the process. Instead someone sitting behind a desk can decide they are not going with what the inspector said and drop you with zero solutions or options. Will cancel your policy and three months later you are receiving documentation from them as if the policy is still active. Then will penalize by hiking the price up for the same policy because you did not have insurance. They drop you for whatever reason they want then penalize you with a higher premium. System is so broken. Dont know how these ppl sleep at night knowing they are taking advantage of hard working consumers.

BEWARE OF THIS BUNCH ! I only wish I had read these reviews BEFORE committing myself to months of stress and worry . So to summarise N-Sure.com was the incompetent agent . A total fiasco from the start . Because the agent did not forward the completed inspection report to citizens ( someone filed it with the wrong address) it got cancelled. My own home insurance was also placed with Citizens.com and after taking quarterly payments from my bank and without my permission citizens sent over a letter of assumption that ******* Peninsula insurance company were taking over but another cock-up later , that policy was also canceled leaving me holding the baby .

Hello my name is ************************* and I brought this insurance for my house. They asked how old my roof was on my house and I clearly specified how old it was they asked for pictures of the house and I sent them everything they asked for including my bank information to charge me $2,047 for a year. After a month someone came over to take photos of the house fast forward I received a letter of consultation that my roof wasnt approved after they took money out of my account they canceled my policy on September 23rd and I have been arguing with them for a year just to receive $1,703 out of the $2,047 that I paid. When I asked why I wasnt refunded the full amount they told me they couldnt refunded me the full amount without a valid reason. If my roof didnt qualify for the insurance I shouldve been notified before money was taken out of my account. Im looking forward for the rest of my money out of the $2,047 that was taken out and still havent received it. This company cannot be trusted and I wouldnt recommend them to any friends/family if this is how they run their business.

I just purchased a home last November. I know it needed a new water heater, as it was discussed. On December 17th, they notified me through my agent that I had until December *************************************** That was totally unreasonable. So I was dropped. Then they said they would reinstate me for an additional $200.00. They said they would bill the mortgage company. However, they were billing the wrong company and by the time we realized the mistake, we only had 4 days for the mortgage company to pay them. (They would not allow me to pay the bill. I had the money ready to go but they said it HAD to come from the mortgage company.) The mail did not get there in time so they dropped my coverage again. OF course to reinstate me for an additional $200.00 fee. With NO NOTICE, I just received my premium check in the mail. No information, no notice. It puts me at risk of losing my mortgage and / OR having to pay an additional fee to be reinstated if my premium is not paid. This is ridiculous. I work hard, I am a first-time homeowner and I cannot afford any insurance scam. I feel like this is nothing more than a scam, something you would see on TV, a weird Ponzi scheme, or maybe a bizarre pyramid scheme. I don't know. I only know it is not ethical or right. It is a scam. I don't know of any company that would just continue to return money to tell you that you can pay again but just at a higher amount. 3rd time my money has been returned to me. I think it is time that someone addresses this issue.
