Morgan Conley Roofing was hired by my contractor to do my roof. I was given a price by the contractor via this company, specifically, the owner Morgan C*****. We agreed to the amount and scheduled the installation of the roof. He came to my home and dropped off his trailer and approximately a week later came back to do the job. They spent several days completing my roof. On the last day as the workers were cleaning and loading up the extra shingles, Morgan off handedly announced that he was going to be charging me “a little more”. When I asked him “what is a little more”, he gave me a number over $2,000. I of course, told him that was not a little more and not what I agreed to. His reasoning was that I had done a small 8 x 8 addition to my house, and he had not bothered to come measure it when he originally gave the contractor the estimate. I specifically asked my contractor if he had come by to see the property & my Contractor said he asked him and was told that he had. I had no reason to suspect that this person did not do his job and then lied to the contractor that was hiring him. This person intentionally did not disclose that he intended to charge more at the end of the job. He had more than enough time to disclose his intent before the job started. He was at my home MULTIPLE times and the trailer was in my driveway for a week, and he personally dropped it off. He had the entire week that they worked on the house to notify someone of his intent to charge more. Morgan elected to not notify anyone until the job was completed. We had a very specific budget and he would have been removed from the project BEFORE the work started if we had known that he intended to try to swindle an extra $2,100 out of us. This person has now filed a lien on my property, and apparently expects us to pay him for his lack of due diligence. At the very least he’s extremely negligent, if not criminal.

Sent a letter stating my roof looks like it is in need of repair as they saw when driving past. My roof was replaced 1.5 years ago and nothing is wrong with it so they are either liars or scammers.
