      I hired Bill E**** to restore my weather damaged front door. He is a complete failure as a contractor. He spent three weeks on site completely damaging the finish on the door by removing the veneer on the face of the door. He then decided he needed to take the door to his workplace. He lost his workspace and was trying to find a location to be able to work. Not the first time he had no place to operate. I personally know he has moved many times. Once he had the door in a temporary workspace, he then took another several weeks "working" on the door. He then called and told me that was not able to repair the door, after completed destroying the door. I told him to put the door back together and return. After another three weeks, he did return the door, not finished and not put back together. So, over THREE months without a front door, he returned it in pieces. Buyer beware; Bill is not capable of honest work.

      Yes Mr. ******* did hire me to restore/repair his door.I was successful at fully hydrating the old wood and getting it prepared for a new door skin. This particular type of door, which is approx. 25 years old failed due to the glass insert butyl sealant had failed.I brought this to Mr. ******* in mid Febuary and again in an email a few weeks ago explaining this type of failure,The only way i would be able to make certain the glass insert would not leak would be an new glass insert made and installed. The cost would be $********* Dowling refused to pay any additional money, even though it was at my cost .So I had no choice but to return his door to him with the new door skin, and all of his trim. Mr. ******* wanted me to fill the ccaulk around the glass and expect it would not leak. Unfortunately, this type of door will leak again, as it was the day i took it off the hinges. And after discussing this with Coastal Glass in regards to being able to ensure it would be water tight. They said NO.I gave ******************* Glass phone number and Mr. ******* did not ******* I had no other options but to return his door on April 7, 2025 Hopefully, he can find someone else to caulk it for him.Hes had 6 wks to think about this.
