Advantage Trailer Company failed to resolve the serious issues with the trailer they sold me, leading to major mechanical damage to my trucks transmission and drive shaftissues that could have caused a severe accident. The trailer was far too large for my boat, compressing my trim tabs beyond repair. They never checked the tongue weight, which was well over the standard limit, and the taillights werent functional at pickup. Though they attempted a quick fix, the lights have never worked properly. After towing my boat three times, my truck developed violent vibrations, even when not towing. A dealership later confirmed my transmission needed replacement, and my drive shaft was malfunctioning; issues I never had before using this trailer. Despite multiple emails and calls, Advantage Trailer Company dismissed my concerns. Initially, they insisted the boats positioning was normal but later admitted it was incorrect before denying responsibility and refusing an exchange. They claimed it was out of their hands since they were just a dealer. When I asked for Continental Trailers contact, they couldnt provide it.After months of back and forth, I found Continentals contact myself. They confirmed my purchase and sent a representative, whose only solution was to cut the bunks to stop the trim tab compression. When I mentioned my trucks mechanical issues, he promised to set up an appointment with Advantage, but I never heard from him again. Advantage took my calls but only gave me the ************ the end, they refused to take responsibility for selling me the wrong trailer. My mechanic later found that while the trailer was oversized, the real issue was the tongue weightestimated at over 850 lbs instead of the proper ****** lbs. He had to relocate the winch to balance it. Advantage Trailer Company misled me, failed to support their product, and cost me significant time and money. People deserve to know how they treat customers before making a purchase.
