We stayed at Seascape Tropical Inn, Sept 23-28.There were several things that were misadvertised: 1. They said that they had a hot tub and pool. They only had a tiny pool.2. They said our room had a private terrace. Other rooms had to use our terrace to access their room. That is not private.3. They said that we would get breakfast with a mimosa each day. And as a VIP guest that we would get 1 glass of wine each a day. First, they said they didn't offer VIP. Then the next day, they said they did offer VIP and we could have a glass of wine from 2 open bottle of wines that were sitting in the lobby. Anyone on the property had access to those wines. The wines could have been poisoned/drugged by anyone. And the wines were definitely old as we were there for 6 days and it was the same open bottles the whole time.Beginning on Mon, 9/26; there were watches and warnings about flooding and storms due to Hurricane ***. They told us the hotel would still be staffed. The hotel was not staffed after 4pm on Mon, 9/26. They had told us there would still be breakfast; there was not. On Tues night, we lost power and cell phone service. This was not the hotels fault; however, the situation we found ourselves in was the hotels fault. There was NO safety plan for tornado warnings which we were under. We were in a 2nd floor room. We had no access to an interior room with no windows. When the power when out, our smoke detector started going off because the battery was expired. We had to dismantle the fire alarm at 11pm and sleep without a smoke detector. There was no emergency kit with first aid, flashlight, etc; no emergency lighting; no generator. There was a guest phone but it was cordless so without power and cell service, we had no access to any type of phone. The staff left at 6pm each evening. But their sister property was staffed 24/7 and available for emergencies. When needed on 9/27, we learned that their sister property (Pegasus) was under construction and closed
