      My party had reserved a yacht from Blue Ocean Yacht Charters from October 9, 2024 through October 13, 2024. On the date we were scheduled to arrive, October 9th, Hurricane ****** made landfall on the western coast of the *****************. Our flights were cancelled and the **************** was closed to flights for several days following the storm. The governor had issued evacuation warnings, but Blue Ocean Yacht Charters would not cancel our reservations and, instead, tried to insist that we arrive at our normal times. Their ******** posts from that day, and several days later, showed their boats boarded up for the storm. Despite all of this, they would not cancel our trip so we could not apply for the travel insurance we had purchased for the trip. They only later offered to reschedule the trip for another time, but when we attempted to do that, they only offered the trip at a cost of double what we had initially paid. After our challenge to that, the company is no longer responding to any of our communications. I believe they intend to keep the original booking and not honor a reschedule or, if they do, at a price that is beyond reasonable. At this point, my party has severe reservations about continuing any trip with Blue Ocean Yacht Charters because we do not believe any offering will be made in good faith. We also are concerned for our safety booking any trip with this company and are requesting a full refund for the trip, to include a purchased excursion. Thank you!

      Transaction Date: June 2, 2024 Amount Paid: $4818.38 (9-day rental) PLUS $671.88 (Sunset Cruise on the same yacht)Promise: Access to a "luxury" 62-foot yacht Nature of dispute: Misrepresentation of accommodations and unsanitary conditions Yacht: **** T-On (did NOT match what was offered on the ad)1) There was clear and flagrant misrepresentation of the yacht advertised and reserved by me on June 2, 2024 Expedia/VRBO, compared to what the ******************** presented on July 28, 3:00 PM. Pictures from the original advertisement attached with name of the boat affixed.2) There were egregious infractions in industry standards of cleanliness and functionality on the boat (details and photographs forwarded to VRBO on July 28) that were injurious to the health and well-being of the parties named herein. Among these were inadequate air conditioning and ventilation; living spaces that had not been properly cleaned for human habitation and showed evidence of cumulative dust/dirt/grease; stained installed and throw rugs; unclean bathroom facilities; dirty appliances; stained pillows and bed linens; and a pervasive smell of sewage in the living space.3) During the tour of the boat on July 28, the parties heretofore named (**********, *******) formally requested a full refund of the cost of the yacht from July 28-August 6, 2024 ($4818.38 rental cost) now to include the $671.88 transferred from *********************' checking account on June 24, 2024 for the August 4 sunset cruise. The refund was requested from ******, the company greeter at the close of the 3:00 boat viewing, and at the 6:00 meeting on July 28 requested by ********************* (CEO). Witnesses in attendance at all meetings during July 28 were ********************* (purchaser), ************************* (guest), and ***************** (guest). The case was initiated on July 28 at 8:18 PM.4) This email is initiated as a continued attempt to gain a refund for total costs incurred as a result of the misrepresentation and condition of the boat ****-T On.
