      This company handles my home and business insurance. The agent assigned all values to my policy including replacement costs. We have a major water damage claim and they are now denying the claim over $5000 worth of coverage. This is a multi million dollar property with over $900K in replacement cost and the agent only assigning $5000 in water backup coverage for a 1750 sqft basement, it was an error in her judgement and the only response from the agency is "I" should have caught her mistake. The claim will likely exceed $50k and I expect their E&O insurance to make me whole.

      I contacted this company numerous times about my premiums, I sold two vehicles, and they continued to charge me for premiums for the autos I did not own. I changed addresses, asked for updates, and the delay in response was terrible. Today, I received a notice that they want me to pay $91.57 for past due amount?

      On 8/17/2022, Mr. ***** contacted AssuredPartners of Florida, LLC ("AP"), his insurance agency, requesting his Auto Owners Insurance Policy be cancelled effective 08/22/2022. His Auto Owners Insurance Policy was effective 1/28/2022 through 1/28/2023. He sought replacement coverage through another agency and that was the effective date of the new coverage. Mr. ***** signed a request to cancel his current policy and provided proof of his new policy.







      When a policyholder makes a midterm cancellation request, the insurance carrier calculates coverage from the policy term inception date (1/28/2022) to the requested cancellation date (8/22/2022). If there is an over payment then there is a refund, if the amount paid up on the policy is less than the amount sufficient to cover the policyholder to the requested cancellation date (8/22/202) then after cancellation billing is reconciled and the balance due is invoiced. AP is not involved in this process, and it is entirely the insurance carrier's decision. The latter is the case for Mr. *****.



      Mr. ***** was set up on a semi-annual payment plan. On 2/1/22, Mr. ***** made the initial payment of $773.80, to secure coverage from 01/28/2022 to 07/28/2022. Because the policy was cancelled on 8/22/2022 the customer was billed $91.57 for the earned coverage from 07/28/2022 to 08/22/2022. On 9/22/2022, Mr. ***** contact AP via email that he took issue with the invoice and AP responded via email explaining the $91.57.



      Auto Owners and AP are separate entities. AP fulfilled all requests from the client and after the cancellation, Agent/Client relationship between Mr. ***** and AssuredPartners has ended. AP would be more than happy to assist Mr. ***** in understanding the Auto Owners billing reconciliation further, however, as explained above, AP has no authority to modify Auto Owners' premium invoice.
