Have provided course curriculum requirements: finances, class-time and resources for a graduate degree that has not been received. Frequent requirement changes, which are unethical practices. Financial balances are generated based on these requirement changes. Again, unethical practices.

(Responding on behalf of Southeastern University)

Southeastern University reviewed this complaint submitted by former student, ******* ******.

Upon review of the student record, it was identified that the student failed to meet academic progress requirements as outlined by Title IV regulations, and in the university catalog, and communicated to the student in summer of 2020.  The student appealed, and the appeal was approved with financial aid awarded for fall 2020 on a probationary status, including specific conditions required to remain eligible for aid beyond fall 2020. Upon review of final grades at the end of fall 2020, the student did not meet the probationary requirements and was notified that she would no longer qualify for federal student aid effective in spring 2021.  The student enrolled in spring 2021 still, without aid eligibility, and no payments or other financial arrangements were ever made.  As such, the student left with (and currently still has) an outstanding balance for the courses taking that spring 2021 semester.

The student has not enrolled since that time, and our records show she has not contacted or interacted with us on the matter since that time.  She is currently under our internal collections process.  It is unclear, based on the complaint submitted, what the student means by, "Have provided course curriculum requirements, class time, resources required for a graduate degree that has not been received."  It is also not clear what "...frequent requirement changes that are unethical" is referring to.  There is no evidence of any such practice.  ************************ balances", referred to by the student are generated based on enrolled hours and costs for tuition and fees per semester.  Charges were reviewed and are verified to be accurate with the balance significantly lower than the amount listed in this complaint, which is inaccurate.

Should the student wish to contact us for clarity regarding the unpaid balance, or for further options on balance resolution, she may contact **************************.

    Sincerely,

    Southeastern University
