August 4, 2023 A&S Aluminum Structures DBA also known as ***** ***** *** installed a screen room on my patio. It was suppose to be 16 x 12. They installed it as 15 x 12. It is 1 foot short. I spoke with Joel several times with the company and have text message proof that he admits it was 1 foot too short and that the company will come out and fix it. I have called several times, sent text messages, and received no response. I just would like my structure installed to the proper 16 feet I paid for.Business Response

I signed a contract with Aluminum Structures on Aug and paid $2000 as advance. The team is not responding to my inquiries properly and i have already made 100+ calls and emails. The approvals are not done or the work is started and it is almost a year now. So i would like to get the full refund of my advance payment and cancel the contract.Business Response

Effectively the customer had signed a contract. Where he was responsible for the concrete part, we have done engineering documents paid fees at the permit department twice, unfortunately the customer hired anon lice se contractor to pour his concrete, and the county is requesting a permit and engineering for the concrete that was done unauthorized. We had exhausted all the resources to the point of getting engineers Involve In the case, we has used his downpayment of $2000 and on top of that we have spent an excess of $550. It states clearly in our contract the down payment will.be used to permitting process and if the cost is minor of the deposit it will be refunded in this case there is no balance.on his favor, perhaps there is an bill.
We have explained the situation to the customer in many different ways, he have asked the customer to reach as well the county to find out on his own as well of the problem he has, due to doing g work without a permit.
Unfortunately there is nothing else we can do at this point. It's all in his hands to get an engineer to permit the concrete. That way the permit could continue its normal process.

I am rejecting this response because: The Business was never responding to my emails or calls and I'm totally unaware of what is happening with the permit process.No updates were given on the approval issues in the first 6 months. I directly called the Permit department to check the status of my application and they confirmed that the Business submitted the application with incorrect details. Post that I reached out to the Business and apprised about my conversation with County Permit department.
I decided to cancel the contract and obtain refund only after I understand that they haven't done the application correctly and have no confidence in the work. My main concern is the delay in the approval process which is solely due to the Business (not the county) and their style of working. Few of my friends from Odessa have the same complaint with this Business, so I decided to withdraw the contract. I'm not responsible for their mess and require full refund of my deposit or will plan to sue the Business.

September 2021, this company completed a pan roof patio cover in our backyard. Since, with the rainy season, our pan roof is leaking over our back patio. Backyard Patio Pan Roof with Leaks Since May 5, 2022 I have sent 16 emails, I have received only 2 responses and I have left 2 or 3 voice messages (no one ever answers their business phone). The May 5th email, I included pictures of the leaks, I did receive a response from David on May 10, 2022 stating that they can schedule to come out and do the repairs. I never heard back, and continue to send emails. On July 5, 2022 I received another response from David that someone from the team would be contacting me that week of July 5th to do the repairs. Again, I haven't heard from anyone. I am beyond frustrated and there is a one year warranty on the work..... I need to have this resolved, the company needs to just come out and complete the repair under their warranty.Business Response

They have a lein on my home, job has been completed and paid in full. Need them to remove lein but can't speak.to anyone. We have left messages, texts and sent emails but have not received a response. I have contacted and the bank has also contacted with no response.Business Response

It was a notice of commencement that you signed for us to do the work. It expires one year from when you got it notarized. We completed the work and were paid. There was no Lien ever filed. You have the wrong terminology. Secondly, signing a release form and getting it notarized is not included in the contract price for your completed work. We literally have to pay out of pocket for something you want to do and we are being helpful. We don't have to do it because we never put a real Lien on your house. So therefore it is completed, out of pocket for us to benefit you. The only thing we had asked is patience. We understand that you need it asap but don't reach out on the final few days. We are busy and can't just do it on a whim because you waited until the last minute to take care of it.
