I am a single mother with a young child that is seriously mentally ill. After numerous calls to my insurance company, I realized I was being forced to pay a bill because Sunstar did not file the claim properly. Sunstar billed my insurance incorrectly, and I called asking them to file the claim again. Sunstar kept saying that the filed the claim correctly. They did not even try to check with my son's insurance to see if there was any error on their part. They kept insisting that everything was correct. I found that incredibly difficult to accept when they filed identical claims in 2023, and my son's insurance paid the claim with no difficulty. I called again to check on what the supervisor said after reviewing the claim again. According to the **** the supervisor at Sunstar also stated that this claim was filed correctly, even though I told them I had spoken to an insurance company supervisor that could clearly see that Sunstar had failed to put in the correct sponsor name and fill out box 27 of the claim, which would have allowed the insurance to pay them directly. I now have to continue to deal with my insurance to get live checks sent to me so that Sunstar can get paid. I should not have to pay for Sunstar's mistake, but unfortunately I do. At no point, after ******* confirmed to the Sunstar ***resentative that they did in fact fail to fill in box 27, did I receive an apology. The Sunstar *** was very quick to skip over that and just insist I receive a live check. What measures will they take in order to do a course correction in the future? Probably nothing, as they could care less about what I've had to go through, and must still go through to correct their mistake. Getting a live check has not been easy either as my insurance is also having difficulty getting that done. None of this would have happened without the negligence from Sunstar. In all of my 20+ years in having this health insurance I have NEVER had to pay anything with and insurance check.
