Spent $22,000 on a car that was advertised as beautiful head ****** sweet condition and what got delivered was a fixer upper that wouldn't even start off the trailer and after getting it started and paying to register it went to the state inspection station to get a sticker and it failed for multiple issues including water and two of the headlights big chip on the windshield brake lights didn't work reverse lights don't work windshield washer motor doesn't work passenger window doesn't roll up etc etc etc it should have been advertised as a fixer upper and when I contacted classic cars their response was "what did you expect it's an old car" ridiculous unethical businessBusiness Response

First, the customer did not pay $22,000 for this vehicle, so that is a false claim. The vehicle that was purchased left our dealership in exemplary condition. This complaint does not accurately depict the events of the transaction. There was a third party transporter involved that caused damage. Additionally, this customer's state requires specific items that are unusual for most states, such as updated headlights. This is obviously something that a customer or buyer should verify before investing in a classic car. Additionally, this customer has been hostile and rude to our staff when we have tried to assist him with whatever his needs are. We have offered our help on numerous occasions, even offering to review his inspection with his state. Again, this is an issue with his state, not with the car's mechanical condition.Customer Answer

Complaint: 22633366
I am rejecting this response because:I don't know what they're talking about updated headlights the car came with two non-working headlights because they were full of water and they don't need to be updated they just needed to be replaced and the windshield has a crack in it and the windshield washer motor didn't work neither did one of the rear tail/brake lights neither did the reverse lights which required both rusted out sockets to be replaced. And I don't know what they talking about a third party transporter? I never dealt w/anyone other than ,I sent them $21,500 and that included delivery. And they never offered any help when I contacted them their reply was that "What do I expect it? It is an old car" Their response was total lies.

All of the lights worked before the vehicle left. It is not uncommon for things to stop working on old cars. We have offered to help fix his issues if he can get the car back here to our service facility.Customer Answer

Complaint: 22633366
I am rejecting this response because: Two headlights had
water in them, one taillight was out, both reverse lights needed the sockets replace because the wires were rusted/detached the windshield have a chip in the center the passenger window does not close properly/misaligned and the windshield wiper motor did not work/needed replacement. And how would you know ?I am sure the car had all these issues when it left your shop. When we spoke after I called to complain you said you do not go over the cars, you get them in and ship them out,and you never offered anything. Your response was "It's an old car, what do you expect?"And as far as bringing the car to your shop? That is ridiculous! You shipped the car here so you know I am 1200 miles from you.

I purchased a 1969 ****** from Supersportclassic, relying on their five-star reviews and assurances from ****** that the car was "turn-key ready" and required no additional repairs or parts. When I specifically asked ****** about any necessary maintenance, he confirmed that the car would not need anything, including for insurance. However, the car was delivered at 1 AM and would not start off the trailer. After several attempts, it started but stalled multiple times within an hour. I contacted ****** to report the issue immediately. The next day, I jumped the car and managed to drive it for only two miles before it stalled again. When I informed the dealer, they advised me to take it home until they could determine the next steps. Frustrated but patient, I arranged for a mechanic to tow the car for inspection. The mechanic discovered numerous issues: the headers were improperly aligned, causing them to rest on the gearbox and hit the starter; battery wires were melting due to contact with the engine; and there were leaks in the power steering pump, transmission, differential, and oil filter. Additionally, there were water leaks in both the cabin and trunk, along with issues with the windows not sealing properly. When I reached out to ******, he avoided my calls. Eventually, I spoke with ****, the owner, who offered to cover some repairs but not the header replacement. His suggestion to hammer the headers into place was unacceptable. He then proposed a $1,000 refund to avoid further action, implying I might face backlash from his staff if I pursued a complaint.Despite my trust in their claims, I feel deceived and frustrated by this experience. I am requesting full resolution for the repairs needed to make the vehicle safe and operational or a complete return of the car. This has been a distressing situation, and I expect accountability from Supersportclassic.Business Response

This claim has some validity issues that we would like to address. First, we would never suggest that a 60 year old car needs nothing, not even insurance. That is just silly and should speak to the validity of the rest of the complaint made by this customer. In fact, as a licensed car dealer, we are unable to release a vehicle without proof of insurance.
the complaint regarding the transporter delivering at 1am is baffling to us. We attempted to help arrange shipping for this customer, but he wanted to save money on a cheaper transporter so he hired his own. We have no control over transporters that we do not help schedule.
Additionally, this low budget transporter left the key on in the ignition, which as most classic car enthusiasts know, will damage the ignition coil and cause runability issues, like he is having.
Our vehicles are all test driven and inspected by mechanics before they are released. Once a low budget transporter gets a hold of a car, it is out of our control. We sincerely wish this customer would have let us help transport the car to him and avoided these issues.
Lastly, the small seeps of fluid that were found by the customers mechanic are typical with any classic car. In fact, these cars often leaked and seeped fluids when they were new off the assembly line. Were not sure what the issues are with the headers, this is a big block car with headers.
Out of a gesture of Goodwill we did offer to assist with the damage caused by his transporter, but the customer was not accepting of that and had unrealistic expectations.

My deal included trading in my car and living out of state, it involved shipping. The dealership and I agreed on a trade in value for my car, however, they insisted on picking my car up first (separately), which concerned me in that I did not want them picking my car apart and then not wanting to give me what we agree upon. Thats exactly what happened! They called me with this long list of little things and wanted to give me less money for my car. What choice did I have at this point? My trade-in was all the way down in ******* and they waited two or three hours before my new car was supposed to be shipped to call me to insist on giving me less money for my trade. The car I bought was a NIGHTMARE. First off, they said they would go through the car and service before delivery. They insisted, after I asked the salesman multiple times, they would change the oil, check all fluids to spec, etc. In fact, I was told that it was in predelivery 3 days prior to shipping. This was not done AT ALL. In fact, the oil was black and it was very low. The dipstick didnt even have oil on it when I checked it. I ended up adding 2 quarts and then I finally saw some oil, which is what you will see in the picture I provided, The car had a 7 quart Kevco racing oil pan which called for 8 quarts total. The car had 4 quarts of oil in it. The filter was dated 2016. As I worked to correct that problem, some other issues the car had were as follows: the spark plugs were oil fouled and loose, the rear main oil seal had a severe leak, the transmission leaked, all four tires were at 19 PSI, and I came to learn that the hydraulic lifter for the intake valve for cylinder number 4 was not working. The engine was running 7 cylinders. I basically had to rebuild the entire top half of the engine. They also said that they would give me all the original paperwork from the build on the car which they never gave me and when I try to reach out, they never returned my email or call.Business Response

This story contains blatant falsities and does not depict the actual transaction that took place. By law, a licensed Florida dealer must obtain a trade in prior to releasing the other car, otherwise it is not a trade in. This customer was made aware of that when he decided to trade in his car. The car he was trading in also had a lien on it, which required us satisfying the lien as part of the purchase process, which takes a very long time.
The vehicle that he traded in was misrepresented over the phone and required a lot more work to get to our standards, which is why we asked for him to help pay for some repairs.
The vehicle this customer purchased is a custom kit car with an aftermarket racing engine. The oil capacity of the pan and what shows on the dipstick doesn’t necessarily dictate how much oil the car needs. Thankfully our certified trained technicians know these vehicles well and made sure it was properly lubricated.
It is our belief that this customer took it upon himself to add oil and overfilled the engine causing significant damage. We have attempted to help coach him on how to remedy his situation and get the car back into the correct operating condition that it was when it left our service facility.

I purchased a 1966 Chevelle for around $50k. They said it had approximately ****** miles on the rebuilt engine. They had to fix the the drive shaft and put a rebuilt transmission in it along with a different (cheap) shifter. I took ownership of it and couldnt drive it due to the suspension was broke and the body was rubbing on the tires. After speaking with them they gave me a check for $1500 to help with repairs. After installing new shocks and springs all around it to make it drivable I discovered the the speedometer didnt work but after driving it for less then 100 miles it started making a knocking sound. After taking it to the shop we discovered that 2 cylinders where not working at all and 2 others wouldnt hold compression. After getting ahold of them again the suggested that I send the car back to them where they would put a use motor in on my dime. I told them that wasnt going to work due to the other many issues that it had that they were supposed to have fixed. After that conversation they are nonresponsiveBusiness Response

This complaint is baseless and inaccurate. This customer did have a small issue with the vehicle upon arrival, which we kindly assisted with repairs. He was 100% satisfied and thrilled with the purchase. After several months of driving the car, it became known that this customer over-revved the engine during a drag race and caused engine damage. This is obviously something completely out of our control. This customer threatened to leave a ******************** complaint if we did not buy him a new engine. As a small business, we respectfully ask the BBB to refute this baseless complaint as extortion. Shame on this customer for attacking a reputable, family business on behalf of their own carelessness.

They are clearly not telling the truth. They did send me a check for $1500 because when I received the car i was unable to drive it due to the springs and shocks (all 4 springs and all 4 shocks) were not good and the car literally sat on the tires. After replacing that I drove it less then 100 miles and heard a knock so I parked the car. After 3 mechanics came to look at it and we removed the valve cover to get a better look we noticed that the valve lifters were broke to the point that they were turning by hand. We then checked the compression to find 2 cylinders were completely dead and 2 more wouldnt hold pressure. I contacted them in hopes of some kind of help and they offered that I send the car back (on my dime) to ******* and they would be willing to look at it. After knowing what they call an inspection and still sending me the car In the condition it was in I refused. I then asked them to at least split the cost of a new engine and they declined. Also the front bumper came off while driving and they never hooked up the speedometer cable. In fact it didnt even have one. The latest tail lights didnt work and the brakes needed replaced along with the entire front suspension. They refused to work with me on any of these issues so I said I would get ahold of you. The fact is, I am a blue collar construction worker raising a family and spent a lot on money on a car that I was only able to put not even 100 miles on it so their accusations of me drag racing is wrong and a lie. My finance was there to witness everything. They also sent me a letter to ***** and desist that I will not signBusiness Response

We are very sorry that this customer is disappointed. We have worked very hard to make him happy, including assisting financially with some repairs that we never agreed to. This car was purchased as-is, but we still strive to make every customer happy. Unfortunately we recognize that making every person happy is not a realistic outcome. However, we still tried. Since this customer has now mentioned legal action, we will need to share this communication with our legal in order to protect ourselves. I am rejecting this response because:
Although what they said is true about helping at the beginning by sending me a check for $1500 just so I can fix the suspension fixed enough to have the ability to drive the car. I said in a conversation over the phone with them what happens if theres more issues ? Their response was that they would help. As I mentioned before and I have it in text (or email) that I drove the car under 100 miles when I heard a ticking sound and parked it right away to find out that I had 0 compression in 2 cylinders and 2 other cylinders wouldnt hold pressure. I couldnt even tell you if I put 100 miles on at the time due to fact that there wasnt even a speedometer cable with the car. I can say that the distance was mapped out and it came to actually 70 miles of driving. Not to mention the other issues the car had. They also kept the car after purchase and did work to the transmission and drive shaft that supposedly was to long. They said they had to send it off to get cut down and and fixed. I asked for paperwork on that along with all other paperwork and all I received was the title. Bottom line is I paid $50k for a car with many issues, including a motor thats no good. To own a car for over 4 months and only be able to drive it for 70 miles is ridiculous and unexceptable. I feel that they need to reimburse me for the total cost of the motor including labor. I was also told that it had a 12 bolt rear end and in fact its a 10 bolt. So Im looking for full responsibility on their part for both issues. A total of $20k will cover all costs

Got a 67 Camaro that was described as "Show Quality", "Awesome", and Envy of the Neighborhood" that I purchased sight unseen. Upon receiving car, it took me like 2 minutes to realize I had made a huge mistake. The car has numerous chips, couple of dings, horrible alignment of panels, and worst of all, paint blistering/bubbles in numerous areas. Took to body shop and got an estimate of 12K to paint car the correct way. The interior smelled of mold/mildew and very dingy looking, also can see to the ground where shifter is where someone did a horrible job of fitting shifter. Upon looking in the trunk it is rotted in places, stained and some white piles of some kind of residue in there and some misc. trash. I can only assume this is water damage. It drove horrible. Also noticed the tires are in the early stages of dry rot. There are other issues but I think all of this gets my point across. BTW, not a single flaw was pointed out to me. 1/4/24 Update I got a call from individual at dealer, he basically lectured me on car values and my perceived value on the car and that there is nothing they can do. While I fully understand this is and was not thought by me to be a SEMA vehicle, I fully believed it to be as it was described by them. I was also informed that buying a classic car has risk, which is correct, and was questioned if I have ever had a classic vehicle, which I replied that I certainly have. This is not about a perceived value of a car, this is about what was presented to me as being a show car, awesome, etc. Had any of the flaws been pointed out to me I could have then made a determination on if it was for me. This is more about Integrity, Honesty and Transparency. Was told in a text from the salesman that this car was an SS, I cannot fully back this up, but my searches indicate that it is not an SS car. This would certainly drop the perceived value of the car as well. They already have pictures and videos from me.Customer Answer

Purchase of restored 1968 Camaro. Salesman Shannon made verbal promises to address a leak in the oil pan and do a predelivery inspection after it was funded to address any issues. He also told me the car was completely restored 2800 miles ago. Got car home and shift linkage fell apart and the pan was leaking worse. Ended up having to pull the engine out of the car to address the leaking oil pan and at that time noticed all of the subpar patch work done to the car for them to sell it. They used actual roofing metal with the labels still attached as floor pan material. Would like to see when they actually purchased the car and from whom, also the price of the purchase as it is relevant to text messages between the salesman and I as to the condition of the car.
Furthermore, this car was to have a predelivery inspection performed and the leak in the oil pan and any other issues where to be addressed per Shanon. This never happened and the engine rebuild coupled with the floor pan repairs, firewall and rear inner fender repairs needed at this point total over 15K.

We have worked very hard to make this customer happy. This customer came into our showroom and selected this vehicle. After a successful test drive and inspection by him, we fixed a few small items at his request and had the car delivered the next day. This is a very nice Camaro with a beautiful body and paint. We do not build these cars, we purchase them from private owners and only know what we are told. We were told by the prior owner that the car was restored 2800 miles ago. Based on the condition of the vehicle, we believe that is true. The metal repairs this customer is referring to were not done by us and would be impossible to see unless dismantling the car. We would have no reason to dismantle such a nice car. At this point, we have tried working with this customer to find a resolution, including assisting with repairing the small leak they are referring to.

On 1/27/23 I purchased a **** Chevelle SS from SuperSport Classics LLC *************************************************************. Their phone number is **************. Salesperson was *******************. ****************** stated that it was a great driver with no problems. The ad said ther it had power steering and power brakes. I asked him if there was anything that would need to repaired. His answer was no. When it was delivered on 2/7/23 I noticed that it had NO powersteering. I also saw that the windows didnt roll all the way down and when you rolled them all the way up you could not close the doors because the glass was above the drip rails and would have broken the glass. I took it for an inspection and horn, wipers and headlights didnt work. I called ****************** about powersteering. He told me send him an estimate from my mechanic and they would take care of it. I sent an estimate and he came back with a low ball offer. He wanted me to sign a release before they would take care of it. If I had done that then they would have no responsibility. After that he ghosted me. After that brake and clutch pedals flopped around and made a horrible noise. They were missing bushings. Also would not down shift into second.Took it to Transmission shop. They found clutch fork was wrong, flywheel had 3 broken bolts which is very dangerous, clutch and pressure plate were burnt up,lots of gears had missing teeth, also had bad synchronizers. I have receipts totaling $8,000 on a car that didnt need anything! I have recently found a large rusted out hole size of tennis ball in the bottom of door on drivers side. Will have to have have replacement door. If I had known that it didnt have powersteering I wouldnt have bought the car. I am a 75 year old individual and truly believe I am the victim of fraud and elder abuse. I have all receipts and broken parts if they would like to refute my claim.66Business Response

We have tried several times to resolve this customer's concerns. Even though this vehicle was not equipped with power steering, we still offered the customer $1,000 to help add power steering, which more than offsets the costs. The customer rejected our offer. Additionally, the transmission issues that are stated in this complaint happened almost a year after the vehicle was purchased. This is an antique vehicle with a high horsepower engine. We offer extended service contracts that would have covered the repair. We offer this coverage in order to help our customers protect themselves from issues like this happening down the road. We are one of the few classic car dealers in the country that are able to offer this coverage based on our excellent reputation. This customer declined that coverage when he purchased the vehicle and understood the risk of future repairs on an antique, classic, high horsepower muscle car. We have gone above and beyond to help this customer and address the concerns.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:the cost to me to have power steering added to the car was $1800.00 which I sent you the estimate. I couldnt drive it without the power steering. As soon as it was fixed l noticed the transmission problem. I took it to the transmission shop as soon as they could work on it. It was not a year.
I have spent $ ******* to fix things that supposedly not to need fixing according to the salesperson. I also was not offered any type of plan that would fix things. The salesperson lied to me about condition of the car. If you are so proud of this car how come it doesnt show ** in your sold car site? 11-28-22 I purchased a **** Camaro for ****** dollars on line and was told this car was in great condition, ready for the road . I got car on the 12-3-22 had it delivered by a car transport that cost ****** dollars and barely made it home with car . The rear tires dragged on rear fenders the whole time and the engine had a rough idle running very rich of unburned fuel. I contacted the guy who sold the car to me and told him about the rear tires rubbing the fenders and he said too send him some photos of the problem, I sent him the picture on the same day I got car , he responded back that hes going to talk with his mechanic and get back with me that Monday and hadnt heard back from him yet. I bought some air shocks to fix the problem, now the starter motor is going out and still not able to drive the car, one issue to another. They sold me a lemon that they knew had a lot of issues and fell to tell me the problems the car had. I would not have bought the car with all the problems it had . I was told by the finance company that finance the car that they was going to have car inspection before the loan was finalized, that had me to believe that it was in good condition as the dealer said it was. Its my first time buying a vehicle online, buyers beware.Business Response

We are very sorry to hear this customer is unsatisfied. We try very hard to exceed our customers expectations. We have made several attempts to contact this customer regarding the small issues, however weve been unable to make contact. We did not experience any of these issues prior to the sale. It is not uncommon to have small issues such as these over time, as these are antique vehicles with mechanical components.
