  This elevator contractor is a nightmare. If I could give 0 stars, I would. He obviously was inexperienced with re- modernization of an old elevator; the job he quoted. First, he took 6 weeks to complete the work he stated verbally would take one week. He did not take into account fire safety equipment that was blocking the placing of the lobby call panels and had to be moved at building’s expense. He clearly was flummoxed by trying to sync his state-of-the-art equipment to a 50 year-old car because he was constantly consulting with the equipment provider’s trouble-shooting department. Further upgrading of the electrical system was required at the building’s expense. He then stated this part was defective, and that part was ruined by the blow-out of the first part, and then a new door operator would need to be obtained (when a new door operator was clearly outlined in the contract). Meanwhile residents in our 55-and over community were stranded for weeks. He also did a terrible job on the interior of the car, not completing two of the decorative panels, not providing adequate ventilation, and not correcting poor operation of the movement between floors and a door that takes a very long time to open at each floor. The final straw was when he came out and disabled the elevator demanding his last payment. The HOA had consulted with an attorney and were awaiting board action. What he did, holding our residents hostage over money, is likely illegal and at least unethical. Terrible company - don’t hire him!
