      Michele C*** of A&J Interlock Pavers was hired by Olympus Pools to pave our new pool deck. The materials were delivered on January 15, 2021 and the work was completed on February 26, 2021. Apparently, A&J Interlock Pavers was not paid by Olympus Pools, and they filed a lien on our home. I have tried for the past year to pay A&J Interlock Pavers for their work but they will not respond or meet me for payment. They filed a fraudulent lien as they did not file within the time period required by Florida Law. Also, only licensed contractors can file a lien and I do not find any record of A&J Interlock Pavers being licensed. To date I have spent approximately $1,000 in attorney fees trying to get A&J Interlock Pavers to respond and release the lien so I can refinance my loan, but they have made no effort to do so. Now it will cost me thousands of additional dollars if and when I refinance my loan due to higher interest rates. A&J Interlock Pavers should not be allowed to continue to do business and the public should be warned not to deal with them.

      Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/05/20) */ Yes we was hired by Olympus pools to install Mr ***** paver deck on his new pool . Olympus pools paid us with a bad check so I sent a notice to owner an then filed a lien. A release was sent over a month ago . Mind you still no payment ! But I want to close that chapter an move forward. A second lien has also been sent an should have been received. I am licsend by the state of Florida to do paver deck installs an have been for many years . Although Michele C*** of A&J Interlock Pavers Corporation states that she sent a release of lien over a month ago, I never received it. She mentions "Mind you still no payment" in her response but I offered to pay her in full starting in October 2021. In fact, I told her that I had a check for the entire amount owed from my pool lender, but she was too busy to meet with me. I left her numerous telephone and email messages beginning on October 18, 2021, but she never responded. I then paid almost $1,000 in attorney fees in an attempt to get her to release the lien. My attorney even sent her the necessary form for her signature months ago, but it wasn't until I contacted the Better Business Bureau that I received a release of lien. The paving work was completed by A&J Interlock Pavers Corporation on February 26, 2021, and the lien was recorded on June 15, 2021, well beyond the filing period required by Florida Law, so it was invalid. Interestingly, the recorded lien states that the work was completed on April 2, 2021 which, I assume, was an attempt to validate the lien. I attempted several times to refinance my home loan within the last year, but no lender would make the loan with a lien on my home. It will now cost me thousands of dollars more when I refinance due to the extremely late response from A&J Interlock Pavers Corporation and subsequent increase in interest rates. There is no excuse for the delay of almost a year to send me a release of an invalid and, in my opinion, an illegal lien. That is why I will never recommend A&J Interlock Pavers Corporation to anyone looking for a paving company. I finally received a release of lien thanks to the efforts of the Better Business Bureau. I am willing to move on, and appreciate the opportunity to present a rebuttal to her comments. Thank you for all of your help in getting this issue resolved.
