      Breach of Contract for undelivered services As a Catholic priest, I became interested in becoming a better Chaplain. I became acquainted with a group called "United Chaplain International," based in the state of *******, and listed as a ******************* with an EI/EIN Number 36-4508515. For a membership fee of $300, the group promised participation in various related courses. I made an application in October, 2022, and accepted on 11/10/2022 as a student. ******************************* came to my church bringing a package with a certificate and a badge. She told me that the group would contact me to begin registration in the classes. I contacted her many, many times over the months, asking about the registration of classes, and kept getting the run-around. She did not contact me back since March, 2023. During the months of *********** October, 2023, I called the organizations president, and told him my complaint. He directed me to contact ****************, I told him I prefer not, because she usually does not answer the telephone and is very difficult to deal with. He then told me that he would solve the problem. I called him several times during 2023, he finally response was that I should gather a group of six (6) people in my church and charge them $250 each for a class about being a chaplain, and he would pay me a $50 commission per student to retrieve my $300.00. I told him not. About a month ago, I contacted **************** again and again asking for a return of my $300.00. During one phone call to her, she finally asked for an email request from me. I sent the email asking for a return the $300. I have called her a few times since, but all I get when she does answers is her screaming on the phone about her problems, and cannot get her to stop talking for a moment to make a simple plan to return my funds. I am fatigued with her and this group who have not performed the agreed about services for the money paid. I believe that the matter is false advertising and fraudulent.

      Business Response

      Date: 06/09/2024

      To whom it may concern;

      Our director ******************************* has tried to contact ************************* on multiple occasions to invite him to partake in one of our classes. ************************* did not respond to any of these calls. ************************* stated that he had a conversation with the President of the organization, which is myself, and I do not recall this conversation. However, this issue was resolved on 05/24/2024 where a refund was provided and there was a notary present to witness this transaction. The document was signed by both parties and copies were provided. Furthermore this situation is settled and dealt with accordingly. I do apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused but this could have been avoided if **************** wouldve just rescheduled at his convenience.

      I am rejecting this response because: By this means I want to reaffirm that Pastor *************************** is not telling the truth when she says that she has tried to contact me to join the courses, I have on my cell phone my call history between her and me, and they all correspondence in 2024.  She published in a ************** offering the services of their organization, in which in that group I expressed my dissatisfaction of not having been contacted regarding any of the services provided by them, after which she finally began to contact me.
      ***re are witnesses both from my Church that I lead and witnesses from it, where I affirm that she wrote the following on WhatsApp: I did not contact you to enroll you in the courses,because when I realized that you are a priest, you have much more training than the studies that we can offer you, and I was also traveling frequently to ********, for personal reasons, for which I was out of the country. She reportedly took it upon herself to decide for me, to exclude me from taking any of their classes, because I am a priest. Perhaps she is not aware that priests are not necessarily trained well in doing outreach work which was my motivation to enroll.  In the few contacts via telephone with her,she took control of the calls, rambled on incessantly and loudly about personal family problems regarding her mother in ********, without my asking.  When I tried to break in to refocus her on the reason for my call, she became even lauder and more intense on the phone, about her family problems focusing on her mother. It was quite difficult to break in to hopefully change the topic to know simply when her organization would be returning my $300.00.  ***re was no resolve with any phone calls with her.
      When I was able to speak, I told her You represent an organization and when a contact person is not available, other members of the organization should be available to meet the commitments made, to which she remained silent.
      I had also emailed the organization where I stated in writing my request for the refund of the $300.00, an email to which I did not receive any response.
      In relation to my contact with the President of the Organization, I also have a record on my cell phone regarding my conversations that were the result of the initial calls with their president.  I had searched the organization's website on our Florida ******* and contacted the person listed as the vice president, who recommended that I contact the president who is in the state of *******. I then called the president as listed on ******* Rev. **************************************** In one of the calls, the president proposed an unethical solution to my situation, which was he proposed that I gather a group of six (6) people in the Church, that they sign up for the Chaplaincy classes, he told me that he would charge them $250.00 per student, and for each student the organization was going to give me $50.00, so that in total of the 6 students I would get back the $300.00 that I had paid to the organization for their classes.  But I strongly refused!  And then he told me via call that I should not continue bothering him because he was in ************** and that he did not know when he was going to return to ******** I have screen shots of this conversation that I can forward.
      As a Catholic priest I have a code of ethics that I must follow, so I attest to this written statement with my signature and, if necessary, my in-person presence is available to do so if BBB requires it.
      All stated is my experience.  *** financial part was resolved favorably on 05/24/2024 when Pastor *************************** appeared with another person from her organization at my church, without prior notice, and without previously answering my question about when they were coming with my refund, to make the respective refund. So, the refund was made.
      Overall, I find the idea of offering such training could be positive. I cannot comment on the quality of their classes that students may have taken, and hopefully there are good outcomes for students in general. *** matter could more easily have been resolved by their simply returning my $300 with a simple apology.  But as the matter become complicated, I had decided to file my complaint. It seems to me that this organization has some flaws in its action protocols, which is why I am making this final statement, so that others who may consider taking their classes, may proceed with caution.

      Fr. *******************
      ********************************

      Sincerely,

      *******************
