So many disappointments. For context, we were moving from ***************, ** to the Pacific Northwest. My wife and I packed all of our boxes and wrapped all of our furniture to make the loading process as efficient as possible. We wrapped every piece with multiple layers, often using bubble wrap as well. Turns out, its never too much.It was an auspicious start for K&B when our two movers showed up 40 minutes late, without a handtruck or dolly, both of which we requested beforehand, and should probably not be a surprise request, as they are a moving company, and the job was loading a truck. On arrival: virtually every single piece of furniture was chipped, scraped, gouged, and damaged. Many boxes had collapsed, or been ripped. K&B has denied all responsibility and been unwilling to offer a ***** of compensation. The owner suggested that this looks like damages that came from things shifting around during the drive, so maybe we should ask the drivers. I agreed, but suggested that, as a moving and loading company, perhaps part of their responsibility might include loading goods into a moving truck in such a way that they do not move around. I was under the impression that was a common and understood goal we were working toward. Then came the minimizing and equivocating. After some back and forth with K&B, their party line was that because K&B had not actually packed every one of our boxes themselves, they couldnt be held accountable for damages. Goodness. I shudder to think what state our possessions would have been in if we had K&B do all of the packing as well as loading! Honestly, considering how thoroughly we wrapped every piece of furniture, it is borderline impressive that these were all damaged. Of course, if only K&B had only packed and wrapped everything for us, then none of this would have happened! After all, you cant expect a moving company to be accountable for simply loading things in a secure way.Needless to say, not a do again with K&B.
