I am filing this complaint regarding ongoing and unresolved issues with my vehicle after receiving services at Tim Dodge Firestone in ************, *******. My car has broken down three times in a row, each time within 5 miles of driving after the shop told me it was fixed. I have already paid over $1,000 for repairs and diagnostics, but the problem has never truly been resolved. The most recent time, I was told that a new issue had caused major engine damage and would require over $2,000 in repairs. However, the symptoms each time were the same, leading me to believe the original issue was never correctly diagnosed or addressed. I was offered a 25% discount on the newest repair, but I was denied financing through the shops credit card and asked if there was any in-house payment option they could offer. I emailed the manager, *****, to discuss this. I never received a response to my request. I feel Ive been misled and that Im being asked to pay more money for an unresolved issue, without any accountability from the shop. At this point, I have no reliable transportation, limited income, and no reasonable resolution offered to me. I am requesting this case be reviewed and that I be considered for compensation, refund of prior failed services, or further discount based on the situation.Sincerely, ******* *****

    Business Response

This response was taken verbally by BBB:

Mrs. ***** came in on May 16th and had car towed here as it would not stay running. She had it serviced at another Firestone prior to coming here and they put a battery in. Once it was here she felt Firestone caused the problem with her car. The battery replacement had nothing to do with her problem now. The cam sensor was determined to be the problem and this was due to an oil leak. The car has over 100k on it with a lot of worn out pieces. Gave her a list. We repaired the cam sensor (which is on the drivers side of the engine), she paid and left. Down the road the heater hose connector broke on the passenger side of the firewall which was not near what we had repaired. She kept starting it and driving it until it got so hot she blew the head gasket. She towed vehicle back to us and after inspection we found the heater hose issue which again had nothing to do with our repair as it was old and just deteriorated. I explained that we have cameras above all the bays and can show that we did nothing wrong. I gave her an estimate with 25% discount offer but she feels we should repair her car for free. We have done all we can to help her but there is nothing more we will offer.

    Business Response

    To whom it may concern,

The customer also filed a complaint to **** of AG. I have attached our response to them which would be the same to the BBB. It is still our position, and we will also honor the same resolution to the customer here.

    Thanks for your help.
