I contacted ****** ********************** who works for, John Doyle Total Remodeling, to do install a French drain on my property on August 18, 2024. He provided me with a written invoice for the requested work. I informed Mr. ********************** I needed HOA approval first on August 19, 2024. Mr. ********************** kept pressuring me to send him the deposit amount of $1200.00 to save my spot, that no work would be done and if it was not approved my deposit would be refundable immediately. Mr. ********************** asked me to send the $1200.00 via Zelle and provided his number. I sent the $1200.00 to Mr. ********************** to save my spot with the understanding my money was fully refundable. On August ******* I notified Mr. ********************** my HOA did not approve the French drain and I would like my money returned to me. On August 22, 2024, ****** ********************** texted me he would refund my $1200.00 and did not. Mr. ****** ********************** texted me that owner his father who handles all the business went ahead prematurely and purchased the equipment, but his father would return the equipment and obtain a refund to get my $1200.00 deposit back. ****** then asked me to contact his father and gave me his father number. I texted Mr. **** ********************** the owner and was told he would return equipment and give the money to ****** to give me.****** promised he would send the funds to me that day, he did not. ****** then said he was finishing up a project and the check he got from customer he would pay me my $1200.00, he did not. Then ****** proceeded to say the bank put a hold on the check and had to wait till monday. Monday came and I reached out multiple times, he did not respond. I reached out to owner and did not help. I want my deposit back as promised. No work was ever started. The company is refusing to give me my money back.
