I started school at Riggs College of Allied Health in January of 2021.This school is located in Florida, and I live in Texas. I completed the schooling online and presented in person to do clinicals. Since then, I have been charged and paid them almost 17 thousand dollars. I have paid for my own material and my tuition since day one. This is a for-profit, new school that was founded in 2019. They are not an accredited school and do not accept *****. I have paid out of pocket for this school without being governmentally funded for help. This school is very unprofessional and is very unorganized. They have no interest in communicating with their students and making sure that they have the information needed to succeed. It's ridiculous the work you have to go through just to get an answer. It's unfair that I've paid all of this money and it seems I have been set up for failure. I took all the classes that were needed for the curriculum outlined in their handbook for my degree path that I chose. I came to this school to further my education and career in Nursing, to become a registered nurse. I have been given the run around with this school and what they actually require for passing their program. I have passed all classes needed with a B average and above, and I was told that an exit exam would be needed to complete the program and that I would be given a certain number of times to take it. I did as such and I was not successful, but there was also no communication or time taken out to have other options presented, seeing that I have paid my hard-earned money to this program. Each time I was given a completely different way and program used for testing. The first time I took 3 test (around July 2022) and they were averaged together, the next time I was given 2 test and one of them had nothing at all to do with nursing. (Around August/ September 2022) I was then given a test on the computer, and it was nothing along the lines of what were taught while in the program. I was then allowed to retake two classes for so called "remediation" even though I had already successfully passed the classes from the start. I took the classes over (fall of 2022-April 2023) and I was advised that I would have two more attempts at the exit exam. I called for months to get answers on when I would be testing and what my status was with the school and were I was curriculum wise. For months, my calls never got answered or returned, neither did my emails. I would just out the blue, check my email and I would receive information that my class would be starting, with not even enough time to be financially prepared to pay for the material or make arrangements with my work schedule. I finally found out in early July 2023 that the school had changed hands with basically all new staff, and nothing was transferred over to the new staff in regard to their current students. No warning or information was given to let students know that the staff had changed and that they were in the process of changing things up. I was then notified after reaching out several times that my test would be scheduled for July 28th, 2023- which left me less than 3 weeks to find a flight from Texas to Florida, find a babysitter for my child and also come up with last minute funding to accommodate them and their careless last-minute doings. I tested again on this date, just to be told I missed the needed score by 5 points. 5 points! Again, we were given a completely different type of test. We were again given two and one of them had nothing to do with the curriculum we were taught and then they were not even added together to get an average. They went off one score and still did not take the time to sit with their students to come up with an academic plan to figure out a solution to ensure that we got what we needed and that our money and time was not wasted. I was told to send an email and that I would be presented an option- which is still unfair when I have passed all other needed classes. I have proven myself accordingly and they are holding me back from my next steps do to their selfish reasons. I feel that I either need all of my money back or I need my diploma so that I can move on with my career and life. I was also told that after I completed the two classes over that I would have two more attempts to take my exit and I was only provided one (July 28, 2023). I was also sent another invoice to pay for the exam 3 days later and I was totally unaware. Literally, just sent an invoice with no reason as to why now I am having to pay them for this
