We contracted the business to build a koi pond for $47,000. The pond failed, causing severe damage to our backyard and the pond. The owner has not taken any responsibility. When we called him to inform him of the emergency, he said he couldnt come for over a week. A sinkhole was forming in our backyard and the pond was caving in. The owner is trying to blame the original pool demo company. However, Mr. ****** (owner) knew every step of our process. He is saying, now, he knew it was going to fail, yet he still did the job and took our money. The pond deficiencies were fixed the next day, by us contacting a concrete company, with zero issues. We needed to put in a proper over flow, for drainage, which was never installed. He also built a fire pit, out of ******* lime rock. We used the pit for the first time. The rocks, due to the heat, started to combust. Hot fragments of rock were shooting all over our backyard, as far as 20 feet. Our new patio chairs are damaged from the burning rocks.

    Business Response

    Date: 10/22/2024

This response was taken verbally by the BBB:

We went to the consumers and built a Koi pound. This pound was build next to the deep end of an old swimming pool the consumer had torn up. The Consumer had taken chucks of the chucks debris and threw them into the deep end and covered with dirt. This creates voids in the ground and and when the pound over flowed due to rain this cause the area by the pound to collapse. There is nothing wrong with the pond or how it was builds, the problem is with the illegal dumping the consumer did of the construction debris.
