    Called to cancel membership due to paying for a year and not going. I have a elderly father that I care for as well as a full time job and a house of my own. They told me I would need to come in to cancel and I told them that was not possible, that I was cancelling by telephone. Katie said let me get my manager, put me on hold, which I am still on 20 minutes later. So decided to get on bb while on hold. So, I did speak to the manager and I know it is not his fault that the company makes you jump thru hoops to cancel a membership, they obviously don't like losing your dollars. He was helpful to me thou and I am not as frustrated after our call as I was while I was on hold. I would give the Crunch Headquarters a very bad rating. Melbourne is just doing what the headquarters is telling them. Headquarters should listen to what the people are saying as we have friends and family that we talk to often and this is giving us a story to tell.

    Signed up online then went in for a tour and brief session with trainer. Was pressured into signing up for 3 training sessions. Did three and was gonna do three more but due to changes in schedule, I informed trainer that it was not going to work out for me to do the others three. I was aware that these six sessions were paid for. Apparently during sign up, they set me up for ongoing training at $432 every other week. When I realized what was going on, I went into the gym to cancel membership and the training sessions. They did cancel the sessions but informed me that I still owe for the training sessions that I had not used. And I could not cancel my membership for 3 more months. And I must come in person to accomplish this. Their customer service is non existent in the gym as well as on a corporate level. No help was offered in coming to an agreement with the balance owed. They will not listen to the customer and definitely do not follow the “customer is always right” policy. They unethically signed me up and then billed me 1,000 for training sessions that were never scheduled or used. Horrible experience all around. Terrible customer service, unethical billing policies, unethical pressures to sign up and very “sneaky” in their approach to the actual signing of agreements, to which I have never received a copy of anything I supposedly signed.

    We recently moved from
    Melbourne to Ocala. We had a membership with crunch fitness for the past 2 years. We called to asked about canceling the membership because they do not have a location in Ocala. We were told we had to cancel in person but it wasn’t a problem. We were told to cancel before our billing date of the 12th or the month. On Monday May 10th we were charged our monthly membership fee. We had made arrangements to make the 2 hr drive down on May the 11th to cancel in person as we were told. We spoke with a team member and not only were told we would not be refunded for the membership fee but now we were informed we needed to notify them 30 days prior to cancel.

    So either the team member we spoke to originally didn’t have any idea the proper steps to cancel the membership or the purposely misrepresented the steps to cancel the membership.

    I would say this is unethical business practice especially asking people to drive hours to cancel just to be told a completely different scenario to cancel.
