I hired Dave through meeting him on a service call through my warranty company. I noticed on his work van that he was a handyman, The van logo was called HMS property management but he stated he was working under Lee Enterprises of Brevard, LLC. I was currently searching for a handyman and I explained the job that we needed done and he assured me me he was qualified to do the work so I booked him on 1/13/23 the jobs we hired him to do was bathroom remodel, wall take out, ice maker install and kitchen back splash. The total cost of the job was $2975.00 he requested a down payment to secure the job I paid him $950 down payment on 01/13/23 to start on 02/25/23. He stated that he could only work on weekends. He started on 02/25/23 installing kitchen back splash during the installation he injured himself and was bleeding all over my kitchen counter and sink I offered first aid to him and disinfected the area. After working that day he requested a payment of $750. He was supposed to return on 02/26/23 but texted and said he had a family emergency which I understood. On 03/04/23 he was supposed to continue work but did not show and said he would come on 03/05/23. He came on 03/05/23 he requested a payment of $275. He said he would return the following weekend 3/12/23. He came 03/11/23 and 03/12/23 and paid $500 but expressed some concerns with the quality of work. He stated he would address my concerns when he returns to complete work on 03/18/23. On 3/18 his vehicle had broken down on the interstate and he stated that it was his only transportation and that it has to be towed to the shop for repair so he could not make it. He had been paid %80 of payment for a space we can not fully put to use. I reached out to follow up with him and have not received a call or text he has completely stopped responding to my calls and text. It is very unfortunate and I feel robbed. I now have to spend more money to buy more material to replace his poor quality installation of tile.
