  good afternoon *** or mam, i signed a contract with this company on jan ******* this company told me that they would complete the job in 2 months well its well over 17 months now and this contractor has not been here at my house at all since march 8 *****. he expressed to me then that he would not complete the job.since then i have gotten quotes from other pool companies to complete the job and *** been told from two pool companies that the work that was already done and paid for was done incorrectly. unfortunately most of the work that gator pools did needs to be redone if the bbb office needs proof of my payments to gator pools i can supply that information without a problem .this contract was for ****** dollars and he has gotten ****** at this point .being that most of that work has to be redone another pool company will charge ****** dollars additionally gator pools has total disregard toward his obligation and does not care or realize that we are entering into hurricane season and he has left all sorts of debris in my yard and not to mention the water that accumulates in a empty pool that is now breeding mosquitos i am seeking reimbursement for the money that i have paid gator pools so that i can move forward and complete this project .anyone that views this complaint and would like proof from me can contact me via email at ************** .com and i will be happy to validate my compliant friends beware of this company this journey has been a total nightmare

  The complaint Mr ********* is talking about is completely false. Mr ********* is a very hard person to deal with. Nothing that is done is good for him . All inspection requested have been approved by the city inspectors . He is against whatever the inspectors said by himself. He victimizes himself because what he wants is a free pool and make a profit on top of that. Is not a good person . At the point of coping and deck had not been paid. He denied making the payment to the deck guys saying that it was bad. 
  I tried to deal with the guy but is not easy at all. 
  He has not paid as agreed on the contract and I will not work without the payment. Whatever happens in his pool is his solely responsibility. We agreed that he would paid for materials and parts, and when I asked the money for the equipment he said he would not pay for them. I told him not any equipment would be delivered and installed without any money at all. He went to the city with the plans, telling the pool was wrong and the city told him that inspection have been conducted and approved, not any company with ethics would go to talk about the job of somebody else without letter of engineering sealed and signed by an engineer

  I am rejecting this response because:

  Aside from the fact that its taken more than 17 months and the job isn't finished, Gator pools and spa construction, Mr. ****** ***** *******, has been extremely unreliable and never wants to keep his word. He would say via text or phone call that he or his employees would be coming out to work and would not show for days, weeks or even up to a month at a time. The last time Mr. ******* came out was exactly three months ago today, he last came and lifted approximately 600 sqft of pavers on march 8, 2025,to redo what was done incorrectly on the pool deck and said he would be back that weekend. He agreed that the deck was done improperly and that is why he came with his employee ***** and lifted part of it. Mr. ******* mentions in his response that I simply want a free pool, but I have proof of payment for exactly $50,600 towards the $62,500 that was agreed upon in the contract. Mr. ******* also mentioned how i refused to pay the subcontractor that he sent out to lay the deck, when the contract clearly states that I am doing business with Gator Pools & Spa construction, and I had already paid materials as well as well as other costs outside of the contract, that he continued to say "just pay it and deduct it from what you owe me". Mr. ******* received all but $11,900 of the total price that we agreed upon, but has yet to bring the equipment (pump, filter, heater and blower) that costs $15,000+. There is also no lighting or electricity running to the pool, and as per another licensed pool contractor, Mr. ******* utilized the wrong electrical panel for the pool. aside from the lighting, electricity and equipment, most of the work that Mr. ******* did needs to be redone. He put the lights below the jets and its got to be the other way around, so that has to be redone. He didn't use any expansion joint on the tanning ledge or the swim out bench and the rebar was placed incorrectly in the swim out bench. The swim out bench now has rust stains along the front side because it was done incorrectly, if plastered as such it will bleed through within a year or two. The entire pool was not chipped out to allow the new plaster to be flush with the water line tiles, instead all of the work was done over the old walls. Mr. ******* also mentions having the approval of an engineer, but he wanted to poor more concrete on top of the tanning ledge without adding more rebar or expansion joints. This is when i paid the engineer $180 to have the plans revised and Mr. ******* argued that he didn't have to add anything but simply poor more concrete on top. He then ended up adding rebar, but used no expansion joint for the tanning ledge. He poured regular cement rather than the shotcrete that is supposed to be used. The licensed pool contractor that informed me what was done incorrectly, was also able to pull a piece off of the one of the steps with his bare hands. He was able to tell by looking at the pool, that it was done with the wrong materials and incorrectly. Once the piece fell off into his hand, he informed me that with the water pressure the tanning ledge will cave in. 
  
  ****** has total disregard for what he has caused. I have had to buy a water pump to take the sitting water out of the pool, to keep from breeding mosquitos. We are also in the beginning of hurricane season and there is debris all over the back yard, that could be projectiles if we were to be affected by a storm this season. ****** also told me that the things that he and his guys broke in my back yard would be replaced (a brand new shed is bent out of shape and a light pole is broken). He and his guys got cement and pvc cement on three walls of my house and even chipped 1 of them. Meanwhile, I had just painted the entire outside of my house before giving them the yard to work on the pool and deck.

  Mr. ********* is complaining for whatever is done. In 40 years building pools this is by far the worst customer

  Is showing bills that he was suppose to pay. Nothing extra just up to the date

  Complaint: ******** dear *** or mam, responding to gator pools and spa construction clearly as you can see my documents that indicate what funds have been paid ****** dollars  to gator pools . i only owe mr ************* ****** dollars to complete the job.after a quote from another pool company that visited my home to  ***** what needed to be done to  complete the job i learned that most of what was done is not up to code and needs to be redone which will cost way more then my balance of ****** the company that gave me the quote says that to correct the mistakes and supply what is needed  to complete the job will cost ****** dollars.unfortunately  ive learned that gator pools is on probation with the department of licensing which is the florida department of  business regulations for abandonment of a pool job in 2022 would i have known this information  i would have not hired this company to do my ******* carmonas responces are very vague and he is not able to validate nothing he says.if the bbb would like any other documents aside from what has already been sent i will cooperate to the full extent thank you

  that probation is because ******* Fiberglass Pools used my license to pull a permit and the dbpr said it cant be done 

  Not abandon of pool is involved in this case

  What Mr. ********* is not saying, is that he went to the Miami-Dade county asking the pool was wrong done. He was told after all the inspections everything done was up to code and approved 

  He can take one of those company who tell the job was wrong to the county and explain them what the problem is

  To talk bad about the competition company is unethical and disgusting 

  Not talking is enough. They need engineers comments and signature to get involved in something like that 

  He can try to sued the county because of the approval 

  Hes not an engineer and nothing close to that 

  What he is looking for is a free pool and make profit on top

  What a shame, we cant detect the customers intention before get involved with them also what a shame on Mr ********* way of acting 

  He knows my phone and everything about me. He spend time checking me out, something he does well for his position as retired jail corrections officer

  I am rejecting this response because:to start off  mr ******* i've learned just recently that he was working on my pool illegally his pool contractors license was administratively suspended and he  continued to work on my pool that i would  like for the bbb to look ***** not sure why he is so repetitive and continues to say that i just want a free pool but if my mathematics doesnt fail me its very simple he has ****** dollars already out of a ****** contract and most of the work is done unproperly and out of code i have no equipment which will cost in excess of ****** plus , no lighting or electricity which will; also have a cost the pool deck was installed uneven ,unlevel and totaly wrong which mr ******* i dont know what he will say about that because him along with his worker mateo  he agreed that it was installed wrong and he removed  about 600 sq ft of pavers on march 8 2025 and said he would be back that weekend and im still waiting and it still is not done .i dont know what else i can tell you but again i can validate whatever the bbb wants i have all my documents and wjhatever the bbb needs i can supply without hesitation thanks again for providing this service to hopefully ween out these terrible companies that are every bit of a scam

  This guy is a big liar, the partial picture of the plan he sent you, doesnt show the signature and seal of the engineer ********* *******
  Everything is approved up to the ends of the project at the time. Nothing is illegal or hidden from inspectors revision on the dates shown
  He doesnt have even one rejected inspection
  Do you think is something is wrong, the county would allow that?
  They are professional and know what they are doing
  This guy is a nightmare as customer. By far the worst in 40 years of building pools
