    Moniker Online Services, thru their ******.XYZ, just extracted $49.95 from my *********** credit card on 2/26/2024 without me asking for any services from them. I didn't even know about them.

    According to *****, Moniker Online Services, LLC is the web host for *********.com, a longstanding website dedicated to Apple products, services and related consumer discussions. ********* is not compliant with ********** "Do Not Sell My Information" and "Privacy Choices" laws.Specifically, there is a problem where "banned" registered users are concerned. ********* apparently has a large population of individuals that the moderators have banned over the years, often with little explanation or warning. (Speaking for my own experience under the handle "NewsView" and registered to the website for the better part of 20 years, one allegation of a TOS violation is enough to result in account suspension.)********* is not a nonprofit website. They exist to create revenue by driving users to their Apple content. All site visitors, whether registered or not, should be able to set their cookie preferences, yet it is not managed in such a way as to comply with best practices in this regard. Where the issue becomes even more problematic is that ********* does not give banned users an end date for their account suspension, and often these are indefinite and arbitrary. During that time, registered users do NOT have the site access to delete or otherwise manage their account. In effect, ********* holds their data hostage.It is unclear to this user what the exact nature of the relationship is between Moniker Online Services, LLC and *********. Is ********* merely a client or they also involved in Moniker management? Either way, it is incumbent on Moniker Online Services, LLC to ensure that they are NOT party to the violation of ********** consumer privacy laws. Similar laws have been adopted throughout the country. ********* insistence on blocking access to accounts to prevent re-registration of banned users means running afoul of privacy protections in CA and elsewhere.Moniker Online Services, LLC should not be party/host to ********* ***** hostage" behavior.
