      Tow co towed my car 7/6/23 & rental car next night from my apartment where I was allowed to park tow co has 1 sign in entire place I asked tow co where cars were located to get them the morning they towed my rental 7/8/23 & they refused me & car rental co location & said we had to wait till the next week they refused me to get personal items I called them from 7:15am till 3pm they finally said they’d meet us @ 4pm but wouldn’t give location apartment gave me address they had on file but no one came finally 1 of their employees told me cars aren’t kept there but no signs gave proper address they quoted me $280 to get rental but I had to pay over $100 more They charged for 72 hours & I got it @ 38 hours they charged a gate fee during normal open hours they refused to let my aunt help me when I told him in person I needed her help & the entire office crew verbally abused & threatened her while we stood in the pouring rain their required signs do not meet requirements @ apartment or their shops their hours on paperwork do not make sense w/ hours reported to sheriffs dept the tow manager said he doesn’t want my aunt up there w/ me & unprofessionally degraded her to me because she’s aware of the Fl Statutes he’s supposed follow he told me to call him yesterday & he’d work a deal w/ me to get my other car but he wasn’t there & never returned my call still hasn’t I could’ve afforded both cars if he would’ve let me get them on the 8th but now my 1st car is still sitting there because I could only afford to get 1 on the 10th cause of the extra days & I had to get the rental because my work items & keys were in it rental co went to address provided to give authorization the employee approved but tow manager wouldn’t accept his employees approval she had to drive to his location in pouring rain again to give him authorization I have documentation of how many times I called to retrieve my cars on the 8th only to be hung up on or not answered now I can’t afford my other car

      In the last 2 weeks, 4 of my guests have been towed by this company from the Fountains apartments and charged an excessive amount. They are preying on college students that don’t know any better because visitor signs are not posted in the lots at the Fountains and are charging $283 with fees even when picked up within 6 hours of the tow when Escambia county caps Towing costs at $160.50 before fees which I got an itemized receipt and their base rate is $200. The most recent towing was last night (5/2/23) and when we went to pick up the car, they said it was cash only. We had to use an ATM and get $300 in $50 increments and when making the transaction we asked for change to which the driver stuck out his hand and said “I don’t have change.” How are you going to run a cash only business and not have change on hand then proceed to take the access to pocket for yourself? Then after further research I found that Florida Statute states that “Tow Away Zone” on any signs on towable property must be in a 4-inch tall font. I went and measured our signs just to see and the font was only 2 inches tall. I wouldn’t have gone through all this trouble if they weren’t incredibly rude. I called to tell them all their tows have been illegal because of the clear violation with the signs and they told me it didn’t matter because they were towing from a private property. However, not two hours later was an employee from East Hill Towing here replacing the signs with the proper font size. I took a picture just in case. This company is charging an outrageous amount and illegally at that. I haven’t been able to get any of the money back.
