On 3/9/23 **** of Vertical Blinds came to measure for replacement blinds. When they were ready he came by to hang them. They did not work properly, repeat visit, still not working, came 3 or 4 times, same problem. On 5/2/23 he came with different hardware, had my husband help with the installation, since so many problems my husband insisted on some kind of warranty, he hand wrote a 3 month warranty on his copy of the invoice. Two days later we started having problems with them, they would not fully open, kept getting stuck, also cord kept coming off the wheel. I called ****, left several messages, he never called back, my husband also called, no return call. Since we did not hear my husband went to the shop, **** called the police. We paid him $2,000 for 3 verticals and cannot open them fully, we are afraid if we force them we will break something. My husband told him to take them down and give us our money back, he refused, he also refused to come to see what the cause of the problem is. He refuses to be responsible for his work. We will now have to find someone to take a look at what the issue is, at a additional cost to us. We would like to get our money back. The Invoice No is ****. He has not been reasonable, he fabricated the verticals and the track. From the beginning he had problems with the track, he said the new hardware would solve the problem but it did not. Now he will not stand by his warranty.

    Business Response

    Date: 07/21/2023

Business response taken verbally by BBB:

The warranty is void as it was created and signed under duress. We also did additional work for this customer but have not been paid for it. The customer also made a threat to our business and attempted to make good on it by coming to our place of business. We had called the cops and trespassed him from our property. As there is no valid warranty, and with the threats made to us, we will not be repairing the blinds they admitted to breaking.

I am rejecting this response because:  After numerous attempts/failures to install our verticals, which is his business, I believe there were at least 6 attempts, my husband asked him since there seemed to be so many issues what the warranty on the verticals was, his response was "we don't do a warranty for renters".  My husband said we were not renters, we are own the house.  He then signed the receipt as paid in full and underneath wrote 3 month warranty, There was no duress, that was his last day at the house,  he came with no helper so my husband had to assist in removing and reinstalling.  As we were having problems following the installation I tried calling several times, leaving messages as did my husband, explaining the issues, asking for a call back.  He did not return any of the calls from me or my husband.  My husband then decided to stop over at the shop to discuss what we could do to eliminate the problem we were having, the shop was not open yet but as soon as **** saw my husband he called the police.  No words were exchanged, no threats made.

    Sincerely,
