Hired My Top Matchmaker 3 years ago and entered into contract for 6 top quality matches for dating. Paid $5999.Have only had 3 dates in those years, with the last one being over 2 years ago. NONE of these men were high quality and appear to be frauds. One man has been married 3 times, another refused to go to promised high end dinner (only local cafe for lunch) and the other was not in their stable of men and was called by the company to the date then was suddenly unavailable. The owner, *************** has herself been unavailable by email, text or phone for the last 6 months. There have also been many excuses as to why there have been no matches in 2 yearsthe hurricane, email system down, men not available during summer, men available but not the right match. Each attempt to contact business for a resolution is met with silence or excuses. Company has not performed according to contract and has misrepresented themselves constantly.Business Response

The customer agreement enables the customer to file an arbitration through the *** *********************************** Should the mediator at the *** find that the agency failed the terms of the agreement, the agency will abide the ruling. The disparaging remarks about men the customer has made light of will be forwarded to the appropriate mediator and their testimony on their opinion of this lady will be brought into evidence in a private setting.

I am rejecting this response because: There was no definitive answer to my complaint of not having any communication not having a date for two years and not having any upcoming dates. My top Matchmaker has ghosted me. And has numerous explanations, but no results I would also ask for clarification about their position about disparaging remarks and this lady. Im trying to get this resolved without arbitration because that cost more money and Ive already put out almost $6000 or is this going to take forever to get the next three dates? I just want results not excuses.

I entered into contract with My top Matchmaker, just over 3 years ago, on 10/15/2020. The owner of the company sold me my membership with all kinds of promises for successful matches in the ****** area. I paid $6,490 for a membership which would entitle me to 9 dates. My first official match date didnt happen until 17 months later, on 3/15/2022 and they have done nothing since. I sent a lot of emails, which they ignored for a long time, until just recently when the owner finally responded to my 9/5/2023 email. Her response on 9/6/2023 pretty much blamed it all on web-mail technical issues due to Hurricane ***, of October 2022, and she also wrote this: As shared in your agreement, quality matches can take time and patience and are on an as-available basis. I rather introduce you to the best possible option than the fastest option available so to speak. Please know that we will remain committed to introducing quality men to you and know that all we do every day, is introduce couples, interview new clients, and keep the whole ball moving along. But that was it. She still did not send me the updated client profile forms she promised to send me and there are no potential dates on the horizon being provided by this company. I am a highly successful, attractive, fit and healthy 62-year-old. I am an ideal client for this company and trusted MTM would be the perfect solution for me because wanted a safe and secure way to meet eligible, age-appropriate, single men in my area. I believe My Top Matchmakers services were fraudulently represented to me by the owner and I want a refund. At this rate, I could be dead before they find 8 more potential matches! The math: 1 date so far in 3 years with 8 remaining. So, 1 date every 3 years would put us into the year **** and I will be 86 years old! That just not at all what I signed up for!Business Response

Since receiving ****'s finalized enrollment documents on 10/16/20, My Top Matchmaker delivered her first introduction to a gentleman named ******* on 10/21/20 and the reservation details of her date with ******* were scheduled and confirmed for 10/30/20. Following her date with ************************ received her second introduction to **** on 12/17/20 but declined to meet him due to her sentiments at the time about the ******19 pandemic to which the agency completely understood. **** shared she would reach out in a few days after giving further thought to the potential date with her second introduction(****) but never contacted us. on 2/21/22 **** contacted the company since our last correspondence sharing she was ready to start dating again. The agency requested a file update, finalized the update and sent her a third introduction to a gentleman named Herb on 3/3/22 and their date was scheduled/confirmed by both parties for 3/15/22. **** shared in her feedback that she found **** to be a very nice gentleman. On October 3rd of 2022 the agency encountered a huge loss due to the flooding that came from the tragedies of Hurricane *** therefore we had no other option but to temporarily close to replace all lost essential company equipment/documents. Following Hurricane ***, in January of 2023, My Top Matchmaker encountered a huge email outage from Rackspace and it took until end of February 2023 for our IT team to successfully port our business emails over to a different host and we contacted **** in March of 2023 to notify her of the unfortunate occurrence. These are issues that the agency had never imagined nor encountered before, and I am thankful that we were able to come out of it on the upside and with plans to be stronger than ever before.
As shared in our client agreement, quality matches can take time and patience and are on an as-available basis. In the very first paragraph I share with clients that matches could take, for some up to six months or longer. We take our time with your matches and take your feedback into account in the selection process. Some clients prefer that I match them quickly and others prefer that I take my time with matches so I prefer to match on an as available basis. This is why the term "Introductions are done on AS-IS AVAILABLE basis" is so important. After reviewing ****'s file, I found we are right on schedule with her membership and diligently working to produce her next introduction.

I am rejecting this response because:The business owners response to the Better Business Bureau regarding my complaint is not truthful.
She states that My Top Matchmaker delivered her first introduction to a gentleman named ******* on 10/21/20. **** emailed me on 10/21/2020 introducing ******* as a 70 year old, with a lovely waterfront home in the ******** area. I wrote back on 10/22/2020 requesting a phone meeting so I could reiterate to her, in person, my personal preferences, because she clearly wasnt listening to me. I told her that I did not want to be introduced to men outside the general ****** area and that I was not at all interested in men 10 years older than me. I told her again that they must be closer to the age range of *****. (email #1 attached)
**** agreed to speak with me in the late afternoon of October 4th. She seemed to understand my concerns, but asked me to do her a special favor and meet this man so she could get his feedback about me. She felt that would better help her find more appropriate matches that would fit my preferences. She said if I agreed,******* would not count as one of my 9 matches. You will see where she wrote and confirmed that in email #2 dated Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at 1:08 PM. This is her email responding to my feedback after meeting ******* who admitted to me that he was even older than **** said.
The second thing **** states in her response to the Better Business Bureau: we contacted **** in March of 2023 to notify her of the unfortunate occurrence. They didnt initiate contact with me I wrote to them on March 1, 2023 - for a third time asking whats going on and also provided more detailed feedback about my first official introduction to ****** (another man much older than I requested). Seventeen Days Later she responded. That is a late response not her reaching out to me!
The third untruthful thing she states in her response: After reviewing ****'s file, I found we are right on schedule with her membership and diligently working to produce her next introduction. In fact she wrote to me the same day she replied to the BBB stating this: I was notified that you filed a complaint through the BBB. This deactivates your account, as you have directly breached your agreement. Paragraph 14 of your agreement, *********************promises to keep our clients reputations intact, including yours. Dating is intimate, and the details of such you agreed to provide feedback to the agency and not defame, disparage, the agency, employee, or any customer. The outcome of this now turns to civil litigation. This matter will be turned over to our legal department ********************* and Parks. Kindly read the very bottom of the ********************* clause, it subjects you to damages of over 2 times the fee as an automatic settlement in arbitration plus legal fees. The damages are incurred for every place that any offensive material is placed and for every day it is posted. We do not wish to file or collect financial injunction; we would much prefer to keep on with your service. In order to do this, kindly remove the offending material from any and all platforms you have posted immediately. Then we will reinstate services.
No, I am not at all satisfied with this business owners response to my complaint. My complaint is completely understandable and legitimate In over 3 years MTM has only introduced me to one man, older than I requested and living outside the area I requested. They have not shown me any efforts to make introductions in a timely, considerate manner - but they claim they have the right to *** me for reaching out to the Better Business Bureau?
Sincerely,
*****************Business Response

The customer offers an arbitrary and capricious complaint to the BBB, wildly asserting accusations that, when viewed directly from an email thread, are proven to be baseless and without merit. Two pertinent points rebuff the claim that the agency provided one match in three years.
For this reason, we ask both the customer and the ******************** to remove the offensive remarks.
1. The customer placed themselves on hold during the pandemic for nearly two years. The email of Dec 21st, 2020, recalls the customer's statements. It is capricious to point fingers for a three-year interval of matches when the customer is the one who caused two of those years herself.
2. The customer received three introductions in accordance with the terms of her agreement. The arbitrary nature of the customer complaint showed little respect for the chain of evidence that is contained in her email address. The entirety of the communication that refutes her whim of filing an unwarranted complaint is contained.
In refuting the time restraints the customer complained about, the reason time elapsed on her account is listed below. As the BBB can view, the customer herself decided to stop dating, citing her issues with COVID concerns and risking her father's health. To wit, the agency respected her wishes.
"I am too worried about the current pandemic situation to commit to meeting **** at this time. I am moving in with my dad mid-January and will remain there until my renovation is far along enough for me to move back home. I can not risk jeopardizing his health.
I would like to meet **** sometime if the opportunity is available after the pandemic "hopefully" starts to settle down."
**** was not positive for COVID-19 and was in fine health. The agency listened to the customer and provided an alternate solution by offering to schedule Zoom dates as an alternative for most customers concerned with COVID-related dating. Much to ****'s chagrin, the customer refused to do that.
At first glance, it is understandable that the customer was worried. However, upon closer inspection, it is clear that the customer was interacting with other people during COVID-19, based on the fact that she would have met with a building inspector to perform any permit inspection. She would also likely meet with contractors working on the renovation as the customer is not a contractor herself; she is an interior designer.
Before this match, the customer met *******. The customer is cognizant of this and claims ******* to be her one introduction. As there is a plethora of discussion over ****, the arbitrary nature of her complaint proves, at best, misguided and, at worst, vindictive without validity.
The third introduction to ******* was provided to the customer when her concerns over ******** were quelled.
The customer wrote in response to the introduction to Herb accepting meeting him, stating that:
"Herb sounds interesting and I will meet with him."
In revisiting the complaint, the customer shared that the agency is "lying." The gross misrepresentation of this statement cannot be understated, and that is why we ask the BBB to review the attached emails from both the agency and the customer and find that the customer is acting arbitrarily and capriciously. We further kindly ask that the offensive materials be removed from the platform.
Last, the customer went to great lengths to assert that the agency did not promptly perform its obligations to her. We ask that the BBB understand that it was the customers own request to not have services delivered that triggered any timing issues and were nothing to do with the agency's abilities to provide said obligations.Customer Answer

As shared in our last response. The agency is posting the clients own comments. Each comment is directly sourced from the customers own email address. We are unable to change the comments the customer makes into a different narrative. The BBB is in full receipt of all emails between the customer and agency and is aware of the baseless merit of the customer complaint.Initial Complaint
