Due to Hurricane ******, my house had approximately 3 - 4 inches of water inside. I had vinyl plank flooring, which all had to be removed and the concrete slab dried out. After discussions with several people, I decided to go with an epoxy flooring, which I was told would be better suited to withstand water entering the house in the event of another major storm. I received 3 quotes quotes that ranged from $17K to $30K. I waasn't sure exactly how the insureance claim would work, how long it would take, how much I was going to get paid, etc...I decided to go with the cheapest quote which was from *****************************, the owner of Southern Resin Design for $17,504.00. ****** assured me that he could do everything that the other more expensive companies could do, he was just starting his business and a project like mine would look great for his protfolio. Additionally, I found ****** on ********* he posted pictures of his work, which looked great and stated that because he was just starting out, he was doing reduced pricing. The requirement was to pay half of the money up front, however, his bank held the check that I provided and he was unable to buy the supplies required. I went to the my local bank and the check had already cleared my account so I took $8750 from my home equity line of credit. Therefore, once the check cleared his bank, the job had been paid in full without being completed. Additionally, I paid the plumber $600 to remove and reinstall the toilets, the storage pod $278.45, and I paid the movers $650 to remove and put back all of the furniture from my house. It took them about two weeks to complete the project the first time because the epoxy on the bedroom floor was mixed incorrectly. There were certain angles that the floor looked great, and ****** took pictures and posted them on ********* CONTINUED IN ATTACHMENT
