  QUALITY HOMES CAME TO MY HOUSE APRIL 15 ANDY HE WAS VERY NICE AND SAID HE COULD FIXTHE UNDER NEATH AND REWIRE THE OUT SIDE I GAVE HIM A DEPOSIT OF1250.00 ITHOUGHT HIM BEING LOCAL AND IN NORTH PORT WAS OKAY JUST LIKE ORTHERS THE PHONE IS DISCONNETED YOU TRY TO BE SO CAREFUL NOT TO GET SCAMMED .   We contracted with A& R Quality Homes March 22, 2023 to replace our broken driveway and replace it with a new driveway. We gave them a deposit of $2,500.00 which we were told was so he could order the cement for the driveway. Not hearing from them we contacted the city to find out the permit had been sitting there waiting for them to pick it up since April 28th. So we called A& R Quality Homes and told them. His two workers came out the first full week of May to remove the existing drive with a small ********************* and a **** bar. It took them two men two weeks to removed it. The driveway was poured this past week July 7th. We were shocked at the new driveway, it is wavy, dips and raised surfaces with pieces of straw like sticking out in places. The workers did patch work on it that is discolored and makes the driveway look burnt. When my husband complained to the workers they said what's wrong with it. They were supposed to come back smooth the driveway out and score it for expansion. They only thing the did was remove the forms. We have a big clump of cement at the end of the driveway to the side and our side walk and stucco of the house has cement on it. In today's mail we received a bill from an exterminator for the termite treatment for the driveway. So I called the exterminator. The lady on the phone said that A&R Quality Homes gave them our address to send the bill to. So I tried Calling **** and they do not answer their business phone. Then I tried his cell phone it has been disconnected. Thus far they have been paid $5,000.00 by us. Our contract states that it covers, removing the existing driveway, bringing fill, compact it down, apply a termite pre-treatment, place 2-# 5 rebars at the end of the driveway per code, ************* forms, pour new concrete with fiber mesh. Price includes permit, all inspections, termite treatment, materials, labor, and site clean-up. On A&R Quality Homes letter head it shows the better Business LOGO.

  On 12/5/22 I contracted with A&R Quality Homes, Inc. to replace several portions of my driveway and gave them a $1500.00 deposit. They kept delaying the job until 1/10/23 then 1/20/23 and then 1/25/23, Three of their staff finally came on 2/3/23 and started the job on one portion of the contract. They removed the damaged portion, hand poured 2/3 of the slab, ran out of concrete and left to buy more. It started to rain while they were gone. When they finally returned, they poured the remaining 1/3 of the slab. They did a very poor job, leaving a severe dip in the concrete which then allowed water to accumulate. On 2/4/23 when I requested that the owner come out to acknowledge the poor job his men did, he came the next morning, left a business card on my screen door so I would know he had come by. I then called him and made arrangements for him to return and fix the slab. Again, he kept making excuses for not returning. My lawyer advised me that I give him until 2/24/23 to fix the slab or I would find another company. He texted me on 2/23/23 to say he could not make until the following week. I then advised by email that our contract was terminated and requested my $1500.00 deposit back. I have not heard from him since and have not received my deposit back. Legal action is my next step.
