Approximately 2 months after closing on our home we started having plumbing issues and had the plumber out many times. They kept telling us nothing was wrong with our plumbing and suggested the last visit that perhaps it's the septic. We contacted the contractor Martin septic who installed the system and they suggested that the filter probably had to be changed so we set up the appointment. Their guy came out and said that my filter was clean and there was nothing he could do but still charged me $155 for a service call, which I paid. He said that my drain feels was failing and that the warranty was voided because there was FOG found in the system. He explained further that that can happen from shampoos soaps detergents f**** and bodies along with the use of a garbage disposal and actually pouring grease down the drains. I stood up for myself stating that there was no way we destroyed our drain field in a matter of months because that is when the problems began. And in either case it had only been 18 months since closing and again quite impossible for us to have destroyed it with FOG in that amount of time. He then stated that perhaps it was overuse of water. I got my prints out from ************************** showing that an 18 months we had only used ******* gallons which included pool *************** pressure washing car washing etc so not every drop went to the septic. They're trying to find any reason to not honor the warranty. And ****** called me "hostile in nature" for standing up for myself. I have since took to social media and the court of public opinion is that this is a pattern that this company uses, blaming the customer of FOG in order to not have to pay for their shoddy work.

      Business Response

      Date: 03/21/2023

There was no response to the complaint during the time of investigation. The complainant requested the ********** of ****** investigate the system. During the investigation they  found no defects in materials or improper installation.  The system was designed, installed and inspected properly using state approved products. Improper usage of the system is most likely the reason why the homeowner is experiencing problems.

I am rejecting this response because:

The health department stated they can NOT prove or disprove the system is faulty without opening the entire thing up to investigate thoroughly. Company has been silent without response to promised monitoring for weeks showing, through inaction, they have no desire to keep their word or stand behind their work.

      Sincerely,
