I entered into a construction agreement with ***** ******** of Chr.St.Al Construction **** aka CSA Construction on Feb 03, 2022, to build my new home in **************, **. The house was to be completed within 270 days. It took OVER 700 days. The well for my home was drilled on the neighbors lot, NOT MINE. The builder refused to correct the issue. My title company advised NOT to close until ALL issues were resolved; a bank would not accept the well on the wrong lot and it would affect me from selling the house down the road. The builder, finally, days before closing, admitted the well would need to be relocated to close. A private home inspector noted many faults in the construction: Many of the windows were installed incorrectly and not sealed properly, exterior window frames were scratched and gouged, the interior and exterior concrete block walls had large mortar gaps that needed to be repaired, etc. The free-standing tub was not installed for months because it was plumbed for a CENTER drain, not an END drain. It is questionable whether the so-called fix will work, the grout in the tiled shower areas is still falling out, you can still see through the interior wall paint, etc. The master bath cabinet was damaged. It took over a year to replace it. In Dec 2023, I met with the contractor to go over the punch list and closing. He wanted PAYMENT in advance and would COMPLETE the punch list AFTER closing. He laughed, saying he still had not completed the punch list on my sisters house that he built over two years ago. He advised me that I did not need a title company to close on the house. He would provide me with a Quit Claim deed claiming that a Warranty Deed and *************** were not necessary to protect my interest in my home. ********, the builder, advertises that he is always on the job and available for his customers and workers. I hardly saw him on the job. He would call ME to open the house for the subs. I WOULD DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!
