The meeting I had with Mr. ******* about the survey of the lot. Mr. ******* lead off by saying the vegetation is too dense. I just agreed because Mr. ******* is the professional and I’m not. If I would have known those words would cost me money, of course I wouldn’t have agreed. Mr. ******* called me to arrange a meeting in person to discuss the price increases due to inflation. We talked about all the products that had a price increase due to inflation. Mr. ******* never talked about needing extra dirt. When I was informed of the increase in cost. I never thought half was due to extra dirt being needed. This was never discussed in our meetings. The only thing that was discussed was prices going up due to inflation. If Mr. ******* did discuss this with me I would have fired him. Due to miscalculations of how much dirt was actually needed in the loan. The only thing I heard from Mr. ******* is we need more dirt. Mr. Celebre retired before this meeting ever occurred. My Union Officer is Ms. Zeleznik. Also I do not have a 401k. As discussed with Mr. Bennett, I have a TSP (Thrift Savings Plan). Since I retired from the Army, I cannot pull multiple withdrawals from my TSP. I informed Mr. ******* of all this. This is supposed to be a custom home. I did not get to choose the foundation or the type of septic tank. Mr. ******* somehow lost paperwork on the quartz, sink, counter top in the laundry room and cabinets that we picked out. I had to downgrade due to ******* Home Construction’s negligence. I went back to choose granite instead. Mr. ******* called me inquiring about a dog wash. I was surprised because we had many discussions of this. Mr ******* even mentioned to make the dog wash a little higher. Mr. ******* was refuting that there was no talk of a dog wash. I had to state are you calling me a liar. This is when Mr. ******* looked up the paperwork and there was fixtures for a dog wash. Mind you that I am the customer.

The homeowners were so uncooperative that we had to retain a lawyer and issue three notices of default for, among other things, refusing to provide clear instructions and information needed to complete the project, failing to timely pay amounts due, interfering with subcontractors, and other improper and harassing behavior. In fact, the homeowners behavior got so bad that we had to have our lawyer send them a cease and desist letter and we even contemplated seeking the issuance of a restraining order. Despite all the issues created by the homeowners, we were able to build the homeowners a beautiful home that passed the final inspections conducted by the homeowners lender and building department without issue. In our 20+ years of doing business, with the exception of this client; we have never had a formal complaint or negative review from a client. Bennett Custom Homes has been a member of the BBB since 2007 and held an A+ rating since 2010 which shows our real commitment to customer service.
