    Double R installed a gate in my neighborhood which was not installed correctly resulting in the gate blowing into my truck causing damage, *** agreed to cover the quote in getting my truck repaired until I got the quote ($2,675) he then decided to retract the decision to cover the repairs due to double R incorrect gate installation.

    Double R was contracted to repair the gate at this community. We were asked by ***************************, (the resident that hired Double R) if we had a temporary gate we could put up while the work was being done. The temporary gate had been up for approximately 4 weeks when ********************* hit it with his truck. When I went to the site to see what happened I found that someone had unbolted the gate opener arm from the gate leaving the gate swinging free. At that time *************************, joined me at the site and told me that he too noticed the arm was unhooked when he went to the gate on Saturday right after ***** hit it. We both came to the conclusion that someone unhooked the gate from the opener.

    I first spoke with ******* mother about the incident and she stated they wanted to give us the opportunity to take care of it before they contacted the insurance company. When I spoke to ***** about the damaged to his truck we both thought that his detailer might be able to fix it. I told him to get an estimate and we'd go from there. The detailer said he couldn't do it and recommended ***** go to a body shop. When ***** presented the estimate to me I told him to go ahead and submit it to his insurance company so they could contact Double ************* if they thought Double R was liable. ***** did not like that and decided to go on ******** and slander myself and Double R instead.

     Double R has never repaired damage to vehicles that hit gates that we've built. It is the responsibility of the driver to be aware of his surroundings especially when passing through an automated gates. Furthermore, Double R has no control over what happens to the gate equipment once we leave the site. The temporary gate and opener where functioning properly when we left the site almost 4 weeks prior to the collision.
