We bought a BRAND NEW house with a one year warranty in ************** and Central ******* Window installed the windows. DON'T USE THEM the builder should have known better. We can't open the windows because the screens don't fit! They came to look at them and we're told that that's the way they are supposed to be. Flies easily get through and the poor guy is trying to fix one or two but all in all they are a cheap-o window not even builder grade. I believe the builder ASI should replace them.

      Dear ***** ********

My name is *******************. I am the general manager at Central ******* Window and Door. I've had a chance to review your complaint, and I apologize for the frustration caused by this screen issue. Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns and allowing us to make it right. Our team at Central ******* Window and Door takes pride in customer service. Based on your statement, I hope to explain the issue and find a resolution.

CFWD is a licensed dealer which strives to provide quality products to our customers. We work with specific window and door manufacturers to offer a variety of products for our *********************** to choose from. While we do our best to ensure that these products are installed and function properly, we do not manufacture or assemble these products. This particular window was designed with a screen that fits snuggly into a channel on top and bottom of the window and only rests adjacent to the frame on the sides, allowing room for the screen to be removed conveniently for maintenance such as washing windows, repairing the screen, and or replacing the screen. This is called a "tolerance gap".

Our service technicians, who visited you in late November to assess a screen issue, were informed of your dislike of the "tolerance gap.Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not make a permanent type of screen. In fact, all screens are produced with the tolerance gap. This means that you would still have the same problem even if your builder were to reorder all new screens. The only resolution would be to find a company that can custom-make screens to fit your liking.

Mrs. ********, I recognize this is an inconvenience for you,and I'm willing to meet you at your home to look at and discuss this matter in person if you choose. We greatly appreciate your business and hope to continue serving you moving forward. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

      Sincerely,
      *******************

This is not an acceptable product to me. If you cared you would fix this issue. NO screen needs to have a "GAP" to remove.

      Dear Customer
We at ********************** ******* Window and Door value our customers and have been searching for a solution to resolve this problem for you. Please know that we do not intend to ever put a customer in a position where they feel satisfaction is not a top priority. Your concern regarding the tolerance gap is understandable. I contacted our MI representative to discuss the issue and request screen specifications. According to the manufacturer, your gap should be 1/16". I reviewed notes from our service tech, who assessed your windows, and it seems your gap is 1/4", making this a possible design flaw. Please understand that this issue is not an installation problem or a direct issue regarding how CFWD installed the window. Our MI rep agrees and suggests that you contact the MI ************************ so they can coordinate directly with you to provide a solution. I cannot guarantee the outcome of their investigation, but I am confident that their team of engineers and the company as a whole will take good care of you moving forward. On behalf of the Central ******* Window and Door team, I hope you and the MI team can resolve this problem swiftly, and I wish you the best of luck moving forward.
