I allowed this business to come into my apartment to clean my carpets post move out. My apartment was empty and everything was turned off. I moved 2.5 hours away but still had time left on my lease, though I didn’t ever plan to return to it. I was just going to let the apartment sit empty and the lease end. The cleaners came in on 6/14/23 and turned my AC down to 67, turned on multiple lights and all of the fans. They did not think that this was important to tell me, therefore my apartment sat empty in these conditions for a month. I did not know until I received an electricity bill that was higher than I’ve ever paid living there. It was $165.40 for a two bedroom apartment that was empty. I’m frustrated because nobody else has had access to my apartment, but when I called the steamers about this they said they never turn the ac past 72 and they never turn on the lights. This is a lie because nobody else has been in there. I’m frustrated because their carelessness cost me more than the cleaning actually did. I feel they should pay my electricity bill. Will claims he didn’t know nobody would be back, but they checked vacant on the receipt. You can see the extreme spike in my energy usage following the 14th.

Hello ******, per our previous conversation, it's a standard procedure to turn on AC and fans for wet carpet to dry properly. Undisputed Steamers is always willing to accept when wrongdoing has been made. However, this is not an error on our part. Once the job is completed, we have no responsibility for the unit as move-ins fluctuate and we have no control of your electricity. We were under the impression that the electricity was connected to the property management since it was a vacant (move out) carpet clean and management knows this is standard protocol. Even though there is no wrongdoing on our part, we still want to apologize for your frustration.
